I have taken NCLEX-RN several times before and failed every time. I took my test yesterday at 8am, cut off at 76 questions. I know it takes 48 hours for the results to be posted but being as anxious as I am, I checked my BON's online results and it said PENDING. I haven't tried PVT yet...kind of scared to. My state also does not have quick results so i'm just curious...
Has anyone ever had a pending status and still failed? I'm pretty sure my failed status in the past was posted quickly (within 24 hours) and I never remember seeing a pending status.
Do you remember having a pending status and passing?
Please help decrease my anxiety some about this!
Thank you!

I don't know if all states are the same, but the BON where I am put us in pending status when we registered for the test and left it at pending until the licenses were issued. Pending only means they are waiting for results from Pearson. Relax!

Of course. People pass, people fail, tests that are flagged and placed on 'hold' status aren't any more likely to result in a failing or passing than those tests that are NOT flagged.
You might have answered quicker than average. You might have taken longer breaks. You might have had an issue with palm or finger scans. There might have been a power issue at your testing center of which you were completely unaware, etc etc. There may be a concern of cheating. There are many reasons a test can be placed on Hold; none of it means anything to you (unless you were the one cheating!) so take a deep breath, wait it out, and see where it goes.
Good luck!

Hi!
I'm in a similar position and wanted to know what ended up happening in your situation! Im too scared to try PVT.
I ended up passing. From all I read about it and my personal experience, pending is a good thing. They need extra time to process your test and information for your license..is my guess. When I had failed in the past, I got a quick failure answer.
Thank you so much for getting back! I'm glad to hear that because I checked yesterday and it finally no longer said "pending" and that I had passed!!!!
