Nclex results... how long

Published

does anyone know how long it takes to get your results back form nclex if u have a misdemenor?

I'm not positive as this is just info I've picked up from reading about it but I believe the exam results come back the same for everyone but your BON may delay issuing a license. Does your state participate in quick results? If so, you should be able to get your results from Pearson Vue. If not, you might call the BON to find out how long their process takes. You may find the forum for nurses with a criminal history helpful.

im from mississippi and it does not part in the quick results.. some one said the people at pearson or the boards cant remember which one said it might take longer because they have to investigate.. is this true

I have a friend that has a misdemenor..{they} found at after 48 hrs with quick results.

Pearson won't take longer to have your results as they don't care about your background. Your BON might take time to investigate and delay issuing a license till they are done and reach a decision but you'd have to ask them how long that process can be.

You could try the Pearson Vue trick (see the thread on the main page of this forum with a billion replies!) if you want to relieve some anxiety. It's not a guarantee but it has worked for a lot of people.

Questions we seem to be encountering more and more often have to do with the effects of a criminal history on nursing licensure:

Is it possible to become licensed as a nurse if you have a criminal history?

Is it possible to become licensed as a nurse if you have a MIP, DUI, or other related charges?

What happens if you are charged or convicted of a crime after licensure?

Can I go to nursing school and/or be licensed if my record has been sealed or expunged?

Will I be able to go to nursing school with a criminal record?

What can happen if I receive a MIP/DUI/DWI or other charge while still in school?

These are questions that the members of allnurses.com cannot answer. The only reliable source of information is your State Board of Nursing.

The BON will make their own assessment and issue your license we just can not predict on their action
