NCLEX results in California

Hi! I'm going to take the NCLEX this coming Saturday at 8 AM. Does anyone know how we can find out if we passed or not without having to wait 2 to 4 weeks? I know a lot of you have found your results within 48 hours. However I went to the California Board of Registered Nurses website and there was no mention of quick results. I was just wondering because after the Nclex, I want to take a vacation but the timing will be very tight since my job starts August 10, and I will be re-locating.

A friend of mine told me that I should get a SSS number in california so that I can get my NCLEX license number and prevent the expiration of the validity of my NCLEX in california. Is my friend correct? How can I process my visa screen.? .Pls. help me what to do next after passing the ielts?

I think you are better off posing this question in the international forum. Most of us in the US have no idea what a IELTS is. I thought you could not get your nclex result from CA unless you had a SSN already. Suzanne do you know?

Sorry, but you have incorrect information from your friend. You can only get a SSN when you are actually in the US and ready to begin work. Which means that you have gone thru the immigration process and have a green card in hand, or a document that will permit you to legally work in the US>

There is not one thing that you can do to get a license number assigned to you at this time. NCLEX does not expire, it does not belong to CA, but is stirctly an exam used for testing the nurse. The result will not expire, but if you are unable to give CA a SSN# within the three year timeframe, then you will need to reapply to CA, but not take the NCLEX again.

I think you are better off posing this question in the international forum. Most of us in the US have no idea what a IELTS is. I thought you could not get your nclex result from CA unless you had a SSN already. Suzanne do you know?

IELTS is a English series exam based on the British system, similar to the TOEFL series. I prefer this one as the speaking section is done 1:1 with the instructor in front of you in the room, not with a machine. This is where most foreign nurses usually have problems, with the speaking section.

You cannot get a SSN# until you are actually in the US and ready to begin work, that is the only way to get one. Visa Screen Certificate requires that you pass the English exams..........if you are not testing until this summer, suggest that you wait on registering for it as it only has a one year validity.

Did anyone take the test on July 26? I took mine last thursday at 5pm but no results yet. I stopped at 167. I don't know what to think. I checked on BRN no results.

I responded to your pm that you sent to me.

Average wait time to see name posted is ten days, not the three days. That is not the normal way that it happens. Three days is the earliest but only if you test the beginning of the week, on Monday or Tuesday.

And if you tested on a Thursday, then you will never see it your results in three days, the BRN staff do not work on weekends.

i took my exam last july 12, until now i havnt seen my name at california website, im so anxious already, my computer stop at 75, i was hopin to know the result as soon as possible
