Hello Everyone! Did anyone else in CA take their NCLEX on Saturday, August 11th (6 days ago)? I have so many friends who had taken their exams earlier than I, and had their results posted anywhere from 2 days to 7 days later... I'm afraid if my name doesn't pop-up on the BRN website by tomorrow, I'm gonna have a meltdown! LOL. Would all my fellow Californians please post the date they took the exam and if they received results, how long it took?! Also, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
I think that those that got the good pop up are those looking for results, which is all of us. Had I gone to cc page i would have just waited for them to come and allowed them to take their sweet sweet time. Im hoping this situation get cleared up soon. We are all waiting and need the results for a job or continuation of school, and the longer it takes without clear answers the more upset everyone gets.
My evaluator wasn't as helpful when I called her. She just said that she thinks there was some problem on 8/13 and some other day, (then she laughed and asked me if I took the exam on Friday the 13th), not helpful. Still no results and still no idea when this is going to be fixed. I find it strange that the operators told me there was a server issue the week I took the exam, although a girl in my class who took the exam 2 days after me found out her results in 3 business days, not to mention that there are people on this forum who didn't take the exam the same week as me and are having the exact same problem. I don't believe anything they say anymore.
I wonder if we can get help from one of the nursing associations to help advocate for us and get help with communication?
As much as I really want answers. I dont think that getting anyone to advocate for us will help. My evaluator told me that their policy states that results can take up to 2-4 weeks and that they are still within that time frame. Its very disheartening but Im not sure what else to do. I have been wondering....They say that pearson vue sends the results to the board after we test, and that the results from those couple days have been lost in space more or less. So i wonder if we could speak to someone that is in charge of sending the results at pearson vue and ask them to resend our relsults. It's clear that people that took them right before us and right after arent having problems getting theirs to the board. So maybe if they resent them for us....they would go thru? Just a thought.

Titan, I was wondering the same thing, so I called them at 4:30 today and asked that. The man I spoke with said there was a problem getting the BRN servers to connect with the Pearson servers and that they were trying to fix it. I then said I knew of people who tested after me who received results within a day, so how can the servers be down? He then said that the problem was only on the days we took the test. I then asked why Pearson couldn't just print and fax the results to them. He then said, "Don't make these suggestions to me, there's nothing I can do about it." Then he gave me the email address of the person on this page, which is firstname.lastname at dca dot ca dot gov. He stated I can complain directly to her via email or mail my complaint to the physical address on this webpage.
He also said they have "no time frame" by which they expect this situation to be resolved and that they are slowly starting to receive results and processing them as they trickle in. Mine weren't there yet today, so I still won't have my license posted as of tomorrow.
It just doesn't make sense, though. There's no way the BRN is doing everything in their power to get this resolved in a timely manner, because it's just not that complicated! If Pearson claims that they never "lost" the results on the 11th and 13th, then presumably they "have" the results readily available. If that's the case, then what's the hold-up? Computers break down, this stuff happens everyday, that is no excuse! Why on earth don't they simply print them and fax them directly to the BRN so someone there can read them and input them by hand? And, yes, I think the BRN should spend 100% of their work hours processing OUR results from two weeks ago before they even LOOK at the results of people who tested this week. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, FAIR IS FAIR!
This is beyond infuriating to me at this point! My livelihood and continuing education plans are on hold right now over this, for gosh sakes, and I know from reading this thread I am not alone! We have deadlines being imposed on us by our employers and schools and we need our licenses already!
GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Erythropoietin I couldn’t agree more. I just feel like depending on who I talk to, I’m constantly getting a different story with a different time frame. I don’t understand why they can’t just fax our resend our results either. I have called pearson vue twice, and they think I am the crazy lady from California. They don’t believe there is any mistake and technically it isn’t on their end, but if the state would communicate with them I feel like this could very easily be fixed. I’m not asking them to wave a magic wand and fix it all immediately, but I do think that then needed to communicate with us better. I think that if the communication was better I would be fixed SO much faster. I am sure the board is getting tired of us all calling them, but I am going to call again in the morning and to be honest, I will continue to call until this get figured out. I would think eventually they will get tired of me calling and would speed it up so that they can get rid of me =)
I will let you know what I find out after I call them in the morning. If you email that individual and get a response will you let us know. Thanks for all your info.
@titan- I bet there's more 8/11 people out there. Cant believe it's almost September and we still haven't seen our names. Once I hear BRN has rec'd my results then I'll feel a little better. Goodnight everyone!
It's strange that only the 8/11 and 8/13 people are posting here. Does that mean we're the only days still waiting?
Is there anyone out there who took NCLEX before 8/11 or after 8/13 that is still waiting??? If so, please chime in!
Just curious...
Do anyone willing to go to sacramento physically and request the result? please post it here so that we know. I am willing to go to the office if i dont receive it in the next 10 days.
I was thinking the same thing, but 10 days is past what I'm willing to tolerate. There is just no excuse for computer-related delays when Pearson has access to our results and the BRN employs as many people as they do to process this stuff. I think if there was a large group of us that all went to their headquarters together in person, demanded to speak to whoever was in charge, and refused to leave until our results were located and processed, they would not be able to so easily dismiss and ignore us...
Right now, it's very easy for the operators and evaluators to simply placate us via the telephone and email and give us each different explanations... But there's no way they could do that in person to a large group of us. Like I said before, we have paid hefty fees to both the BRN and Pearson. These fees as well as our tax dollars pay the salaries of the people employed by the BRN, so they actually are obligated to serve us.
I suspect that the real issue in the delay is that none of the bureaucrats working at the BRN have a personal interest in whether we receive our results in a timely manner... As such, it would probably be considered going "above and beyond" for someone at the BRN to actually contact someone at Pearson to get this sorted out.

Did they tell her that there was a computer glitch? and when she drove up there they gave her the results?
