Nclex Result Poll

Having just taken the NCLEX on 7/7 - I'm like all the other new grads waiting on pins and needles. The computer shut off after 75 questions - so, either I bombed or did well. Only time will tell. In reading the BB, it seems that everyone who's NCLEX finished after 75 questions passed. My question is: Is there anyone out there who failed after a 75 question test? I wonder what the ratio is?

It's now been 10 days since I've taken the NCLEX. I called the BRN the other day to make sure that my file was complete and discovered they had not received transcripts from either college that I attended! I called both schools and they assured me that they were sent. Will the BRN hold the results of my NCLEX until the transcripts arrive or will they send me the results and just withhold the actual license? This wait is awful... confused.gif

In response to your questions, yes, there are graduates who "fail" after only 75 questions. The percentages vary from reporting period to reporting period, however, according to the National Council for the reporting period of October 1999 to March 2000: 22% of graduates who "failed" the NCLEX-RN took the minimum number of questions (75) and 56% who "passed" took the minimum number of questions. These data are from all programs from every jurisdiction.

Thanks for the response. Can I ask where you got your information? I'd be curious to look at the data myself, if possible. The only statistics I could find reported on pass/fail rates in general and not pass/fail at a specific number of questions. Thanks, your information is encouraging!

My heartfelt congratulations goes out to all those who have passed their boards and am thinking positive thoughts for those who haven't found out yet. What a nervous time for you! I will never forget what it was like for me, no matter how old I get! Somewhere along the line I posted my experience re boards. It was before the computer version, plus they sent my results to the wrong city. Best luck to all!

to Lesliee,

Did you get your results yet?

I've been thinking about you and hoping for the best.

No results yet!! I discovered that my colleges are dragging their feet about sending transcripts. One didn't even mail them to the BRN until 7/14! So, until the BRN receives and processes my transcripts and completes my file, they are withholding the results. ARGH! mad.gif

Lesliee,

That is so wrong. I feel terrible for you.

You must be stressed to the limit. If it were me I would be calling the school and raising hell. ( That's not very good advice by the way) Now is a good time to practice your coping skills. ( that's better advice ) Your results will arrive soon hopefully. Keep me posted.

For those who've been waiting and worrying with me...the results are in! I PASSED! What a relief! This process is so stressful! Thank you for the support of the people from this bb, and Good Luck to those new grads who have yet to take the NCLEX and/or are still awaiting their results. biggrin.gif

Congratualtions! I've been watching for your post saying you passed! good Luck in your future work as an RN

Hello to all nurse graduates. Congradulations to everyone who made it through nursing school. It just doesn't seem fair that everyone doesn't pass boards the first time. We go through so much stress to make it this far. I am waiting for my NCLEX results. I had 118 questions. I started to panic when the computer kept going past the 75th question. Everyone I have talked to so far who had 75 questions passed. Thankyou to the nurse who posted she passed at 118 questions. Good luck to everyone and God BLess!

Hi Shantel,

I know exactly how you are feeling. I am the one who posted above and passed @ 118 questions. I felt so sick when my comp. went past 75 that I thought I would faint.LOL My husband took his NCLEX the day before I took it. He had 75 questions so this made me even more frustrated that my computer kept going. However, we both passed. Post back and let me know what happens! Good luck! Donna ;}
