Nclex requirements.......

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi to all RN there!

would like to ask what are the requirements needed in order for me to take the NCLEX exam????? im a filipina nurse, just passed the local board exam, and now im interested to take the NCLEX exam for New York... please help me.... thanks....

yeah... after sending the application you wait for your att... i have submited a certified true copy of my diploma... not the original >.

when did you submit your application just wondering?

based on my experience:

(1) in my case to be sure i send the original copy with the school seal. my other friends tried only the certified true copy, some experienced problems.

(2) i included it (nursing program verification form ) to be sure again:uhoh3:

(3)written explanation for???

(4) i never send confirmation card but i traced the mail via fedex online track. but still try to ask also the post offices for postage stamp.

(5) include your aliases. i leaved the ssn blank (in my case). just write fil in the race just make it small.

(6) regarding the bank draft i have an account in banco de oro (but you can use any bank) then just ask them regarding this matter they already know the process. but dont forget a copy of the address which you'll send the bankdraft they might ask for a copy of this.( i mean from the application that you've downloaded on caonline).

after this i received my eligibility for only 1 month and 10 days.

just wanna ask., your application is from phil? and are you the one who submitted all the documents or some from your school? especially the school transcript? please answer...thanks!

hi! i was just wondering because i want to apply for licensure in vermont and i have seen the application form. It says there on page 3:

I have practiced nursing as defined in 26 V.S.A. 1576, for at least (check the appropriate statement):

120 days (960 hours) in the last 5 years or 50 days (400 hours) in the last 2 years

is it talking about working experience in my country? (since im a filipina)

do I have to have a working experience before i can aplly for an apllication for licensure in vermont?

im really confused.. please can somebody answer my questions. It would be big help for me.. Good day ang thank you in advance!

if you passed the nclex on a particular state then you will be licensed to practice there.. how many years does the license last before it has to be renewed? do you have to take the nclex again in order to renew the license? a reply would be deeply appreciated.. thanks!

as far as i know just read the requirements of bon in vermont and i think u dont need to have experience in hospital works just pass the nclex ok. dont worry just pay the fee and submit everything and wait for your att ok ;) dont worry about experience they dont need that just you need is to pass the nclex and it will be ok.

You do not have to resit the exam again even for renewal unless you have several years with no nursing experience and then that will depend on the BON

thank you for the reply rhain3!:) but i also found out that they want their applicants to submit a copy of their license. i recently passed the licensure exam here in the philippines and it would take several months before i can get my license.. so i think i still have to wait for that before i can apply..:(

thanks for the reply! so you mean to say i dont have to resit the test in order to renew the license but that is only if i have a continuous nursing experience.. what if the nursing experiences i have are all from the philippines, does that count? i will give u a situation, lets say that i have passed the nclex and had my license in vermont but im still here in the philippines because im not done with visa screening stuff and my license is about to expire.. what shall i do? do i have to go to vermont as a tourist and renew it eventhough im not currently working there?

If you check out Suzanne's answer in the International forum she explains it well. Basically some BONs require if you have no experience as working as a nurse for several years and you are looking at over 8-10 years then you need to complete a refresher. For the likes of International nurses who are still working in their own country or another foreign country, then there should be no issues. You do not have to go to the US to renew but maybe worth delaying renewal if they require a SSN until you are in the US and getting ready to work, again may have an issue if the state you have your license is not the one you want to work as to endorse a license it needs to be an active license. Something you would have to take up with the BON

ok..i really appreciate the reply! thanks!
