NCLEX QUESTION

What do you need to score to pass NCLEX?

Thanks

You should be good just don't get too complacent, nclex questions are much different than the questions in the reviewer and not even close, degree of difficulty is up another level. Just practice with prioritization (which pt to see first), safety precautions(isolation/contact) and infection controls. I had PLENTY of those and felt dumb not being able to recognize the answer easily which I thought at first that they're the easiest type of questions before the test. Good luck with studying!

if you are getting easy questions it means you are failing?

Well, I don't think so sponge. My exam went from decision-making to pharmacology to basic assessment to bookish s/sx pathology. I'm not sure though if those are of different level of difficulty. It's pretty hard to gauge if it's getting easier or harder once you're sitting the test.

Those are actually good scores teg9 , I had the same range of score when I was preparing. In addition to those 2 softwares, I also tried NCLEX 4000 and did about 300 questions / day a week before my test. I got an average of 68 to 73% though I'm sure I won't be able to pull that kind of score now :chuckle

I think, a wonderful resource is Linda La Charity's book. Not that I'm promoting it but I found it to be a lifesaver when I sat the exam.

Relax guys, you probably fared better than you think.

Worrying won't get you anywhere near passing but prayers can! :redbeathe

i read on some nursing sites that if you keep on getting the same question in the subject area, e.g you keep on geeting prio questions, it means that your previous answers to prio questions were wrong?? is this a myth or for real?

this is a myth as far as ncsbn's explanation is concerned.

similar items

occasionally, a candidate may receive an item that seems to

be very similar to an item they received earlier in the examination.

this could happen for a variety of reasons. for

example, several items could be about similar symptoms,

diseases, or disorders, yet address different phases of the

nursing process. alternatively, a pretest (unscored) item could

be about content similar to an operational (scored) item. it is

incorrect to assume that a second item, which is similar in

content to a previously administered item, is administered

because you answered the first item incorrectly. always select

the answer you believe to be correct for each item administered.

all examinations conform to their respective test plan

(nclex-rn or nclex-pn).

- 2007 nclex candidate bulletin.

i got about 3 questions which are very identical and in all three, i answered the same choice since i was confident of it. :wink2:

if you got mostly that type of question that you said, you're not the only one. this is why most people recommend linda la charity's book to friends who are just about to take the exam.

Hi Andy123,

I would focus on getting at least 70% and if you get higher, GREAT. If you get some lower don't worry about it. All you need to do is to get more questions right than wrong and the only way to do this is to Practice, Practice, Practice NCLEX questions. The more you do the better at least 100 per day every day and reviewing takes longer because you review every answer no matter if you get the question right or wrong. After a while you will get faster but it's important to understand and to figure out how the answer was chosen. The NCSBN Website is for a very minimal fee but worth doing every question if you sign up. What kind of test taker are you? You can PM me with that answer. Good Luck!!!!:redpinkhe

practice how to answer the questions. i realized no matter how long i spent my days in reading the books, i am not sure if i am going to recall it. when i was doing Q & A for nclex i also analyze not only why it is the right answer but why it isnt the right one. funny how i talk to myself while doing the rationalization! i only had 3000 questions during my 1 month review for nclex! at first i went to the library but i am not comfortable with the chairs because it causes me back pains and so i just stayed home and study on my little cousin's study chair! lols! you really have to sacrifice and believe me once you receive the good news that you passed, all the hardships will be worth it!

happy studying!

stay positive!
