NCLEX- PVT- help please!

Published

I took my NCLEX- PN this morning and feel absolutely horrible. I felt as if I was guessing on every question, saw meds I had NO idea about, got at least 20-25 SATA questions, lots of prioritization and teaching, and had the minimum number of questions, 85. Is this a good sign??

also, I'm afraid to try the PVT. If I failed it, I don't want to register YET, eating my money. Also, of the PVT isn't accurate, I don't want it to eat my money and find out that I actually passed. Can anyone give me some insight please??? I'm desperate for all the answers lol 😜

I just took my NCLEX-RN last month, 93 questions, had about the same amount of SATA, about 3 med questions and what seemed like dozens of prioritizing questions. From what I know, that's an excellent sign for you! Because I passed! :) I did the PVT about 15 minutes after the exam, got the good pop up, and just because I was not trusting in it... i kept doing it about every few hours until I got the quick results.

I think you did just fine ;)

Thank you!! Congrats :)

The only thing you said that gives any indication of how you did is the fact that you stopped at the minimum number of questions. This means you either did very well or very poorly.....Given the type of student you were, how you prepared for the exam (NOT how you felt walking out, nearly everyone feels stunned afterward)....given the odds that about 90% of first-time testers do pass....is it more likely you passed or failed?

I hate to guess on these things, but.....you probably can ;)

I just took the NCLEX-RN on Saturday and found out today that I passed. I tried the PVT twice in the 48hr period before my QR was available. Another fellow member on here (RNsRWe actually!) explained to me that trying the PVT before the first 24hrs is meaningless (my first try was less than 24hrs, but tried again after the 24hrs and got the good pop up). Erica2117, if you checked 15 mins after your exam that doesn't mean anything. The test is scored as you take the exam, and once again within 24hrs after you have completed the exam. Not until after the 24hrs passes can you safely try the PVT and it be accurate. The PVT is definitely accurate if you do it at the right time (was right for me and a bunch of others on here within the last few days). If you have an old gift card laying around then I'd try the PVT (that is what I did), other than that I wouldn't have tried it for fear that it would take my money! Good luck!

As PP stated, when the NCLEX stops at the minimum number of questions, you either did very well, or very poorly. Most students pass the first time, though some do not. The billing system will try to collect $200 from you if you haven't passed, and if it can't collect that $200, it'll tell you that payment was declined...

I ended up doing it shortly after this post and I got the good pop up. But like pittnurse24 said, it's pointless I guess. I checked it about an hour ago and it was still coming up with the good pop up. I was just driving myself literally insane sitting there and waiting land thinking of all the things that I did right/wrong. I just needed to ease up, so I tried. I guess I'll do it again tomorrow and fingers crossed it works again.

I just took my NCLEX-RN on Monday and I did not get the good pop up! However, I just found out that i passed! So my point is, that pop up isn't always accurate!
