NCLEX PN will get harder!

Anytime changes occur for NCLEX I get an email. Thought I would share that on Dec. 8, 2010 the NCSBN Board of Directors voted to raise the passing standard for the NCLEX PN. The new passing standard is -0.27 logits on the NCLEX PN logits scale, the old standard was -0.37 logits. A logit is a statistical unit of measurement. Just like the increased passing standards for NCLEX RN the decision was based on the fact that new PN's are going to be caring for more critical patients as healthcare changes. The passing standards of the 2008 test plan no longer apply. You can find the new test plan at NCSBN website.

When does it start? I thought it starts next year April 1st?

Yes you go it April 2011!

Good incentive to get on the ball and get this over and done with.

How are the logits calculated? Is there a reason that we don't get what we actually scored instead of pass or fail? Do you know if that is the only thing changing or will the questions become more challenging?

Thanks
