Hi everyone! Can you help me? Im really anxious right now. I took nclex-pn more than a week ago (Aug. 27, 2015). I got 85 questions and Im really freaking out. I counted the number of SATAs that I got (because my friend who passed nclex-pn last year told me to do so) I got 21 SATAs. She was very confident that i pass but Im not. I feel like its too good to be true. The next day, I tried doing the PVT. I know there has been changes. Now, you really have to enter the credit card information before you get the good or bad pop-up. Someone told me that I should use a gift card instead of using my own credit card just to avoid getting $200 charged from my card. I used his gift card with only $0.50 in it. He said, its a bad pop up if the payment is declined and it wants you to contact the credit card company blah blah..but I got the good pop-up that says "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Blah blah blah.." Can someone tell me if its still accurate? Is there any faster way than thru mail to find out if i pass or fail? Thanks in advance.

What state? Does your state participate in quick results? Did you check your BoN licensing verification system (neither works in CA)
PVT is a magic 8 ball trick. No guarantee of accuracy
SATA (or any other question type) does not indicate pass or fail. It's an urban legend.
If US educated by a school with a high first attempt pass rate your potential for passing first time is >80%. Did you do well in school?
Its in CA. I finished my BSN degree in the Philippines. Unfortunately, I am not eligible to take NCLEX-RN here in CA because I need to take 2 more subjects. I would say, I did pretty average in school.

Title of this thread was a tad misleading, as this isn't even remotely a "new update" on PVT. That said....as far as how you did....can't really say. As JBN already told you, your friend who said to count the number of SATA questions royally wasted your time and distracted you from focusing on the test itself, which is unfortunate. It means nothing whatsoever.
By stopping at the minimum number of questions, you either did very well, or very poorly. You're not an easy guess because candidates who are educated in the Philippines pass the NCLEX-RN at the rate of about 32%. The PN candidates fare a bit better, at about 45%. YOU, however, are educated to be an RN, but took the PN exam. Maybe you nailed it, maybe you did not. MOST of the time, if you are unable to pay for another exam, MOST of the time that means you did pass. It is not foolproof, and sometimes inability to pay for the exam once doesn't mean you aren't able to pay later on. Personally, I'd leave "tricks" to circus performers.
All you can really do now is wait and see. Good luck.
Even on the NCLEX-PN the pass rate is less than 35% for IENs. Between the language issues and the fact that you are not taught the same way nor are you taught the scope of a practical nurse when educated outside the U.S. there are barriers to overcome. Some are successful, some are not. No one can predict if you passed or failed. The pvt is nothing more than a guess.
There is nothing you can do but wait 4-6 weeks for BVNPT to mail you your results. If you passed you submit the paperwork and $150 to be licensed. If you fail, you reapply and pay $150 and the $200 to retake the NCLEX.
