Hi can anyone out there shed some light on the issue. i am in the process of renewing my tourist visa. Which require that i state all the universitied that i attended. Would it work to my disadvantage that i declare i graduated from nursing as my second degree and that i am an nclex passer?
If i do not declaire that I am an RN here and an NCLEX passer would the embassy have a way of finding out that I am???
Help my interview in scheduled on the 20th of Nov.... Im confused if i should. But honestly i believe it should not be a problem, but then again after hearing so many horror stories it makes one think. This is just a renewal of my US visa. I've had a US since I was 3 years old and it has always been multiple indefinite, then 10 years (since they do not issue multiple indefinites any more) So this is the fist renewal and I have to go through the same process as if I were applying forthe first time. I have been coming back and forth to the US every year til my 10 year visa was issued and Just used it this year before it expired. But in the previous years i've been travelling to the US and other Asian countries for vacation. Do you think i'd have a problem if i declare that I am an RN here and the US?

In short, you are asking us to give you an advise whether to "lie" or not....to commit "perjury" or not.....so what do you think will be our advise?

i am not sure if they will ask you if you are an rn in the philippines or not. probably they will ask you if what is your current occupation. if you are an nclexrn passer, so what? that doesn't mean that you hold a job in the us. just passing the nclexrn means nothing unless if you have all the specific paperworks stating that you are eligible to work in the united states. now, if your sole purpose in coming to us is just to visit mickey mouse, then i don't see any problem. if you have an idea that you can come here and work, just because you have a tourist visa, then it is not a good idea, it is hard to lie in front of the us consul. if they can detect just a minute sign that you are lying, i am sure they will ask you more questions. otherwise, you have nothing to fear.goodluck.

Didn't renewals use the Drop-box method? Just curious.

I agree--honesty is definitely the best policy!
As long as you are visiting the US as a tourist, it shouldn't be a problem...and if you are caught lying, well, that's the end of your tourist visa!
Naturally, you wouldn't want to use your tourist visa as a way to jump ahead of all the other people from your country who are waiting so patiently for their chance to work in the US...
Not that you're thinking about doing that--- but others have tried it, and it is just so unfair for everyone else....

After July/Aug 07 fiasco I can't see AOS opening up for a few years due to the amount of applications they received

I think you should. One way or the another the embassy will know.It ay jeopardize your future plans in working in the U.S.Especially if your intentions are good.Dont be afraid to tell the truth. They are right " Honesty is the best Policy " Thanks
there is plenty of info in the International forum but basically in July they made all visas current then couple days later said oops we made a mistake and not current, lots of lawyers complained so they re opened for a month and received a huge amount of applications, a lot more than was anticipated which will result in many people waiting years for a GC.
