NCLEX Med Q's. Take with meals or before or after? Easy way to know?

Published

I know there are a lot of questions regarding medications and when to take them. During a meal, before or after a meal. Is there an easy way of knowing when to take meds based on classification? I know meal make the med stay in the stomach longer and help absorption. Any suggestions please!!!

Thanks

I would just try to remember some of the important ones. There is too much information to choose to test on when it comes to pharm.

Just think about what the drug is made to do, and whether food will interfere with its action. Also think of which ones might cause GI upset. For example, take NSAIDS(Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Aspirin, etc) with food because of GI upset problems.
