NCLEX - Maryland

Hi. First of all, I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong thread, but I'm not sure where else to post my questions. I'm a Filipino nurse and I applied for RN licensure in Maryland. I took the NCLEX in Manila on December 1st this year. I don't know anyone else who applied in Maryland (most people went for California or Vermont), and I want to know how long will it take MD BON to send me my test results? It says on their site that they send results 5 days from the test date, but I live outside the US. Also, does Maryland BON give out the license immediately once a candidate passes the NCLEX? Or is there a waiting period? I heard California BON requires its successful applicants to have a US social security number first or immigrant visa or something before they will release licenses.

There are several states that require a SSN before they will issue a license and slowly this list is increasing. For most that non issue of a license isn't a problem as the BON will hang onto your results until you can provide them with a SSN and then doesn't take long for a license to be issued. CA however are different and they will destroy file is no SSN or extension applied for.

If you do not see your name on the website (look under license verification) then you will have to wait for snail mail and that can take time depending on where you live

I agree with Silver Dragon. I took my 1st attempt on the NCLEX last May. However, I failed but the address that was used during my application was my address in Cebu. It took 3 months for Vermont BON to send out my test results. Some says it varies per state, but usually it takes a while for test takers outside the US to receive their results. Good Luck! Did you know if you passed the test? If you haven't, try doing the Pearson Vue Trick. It's 100% reliable as long as you follow the instructions. It has its own thread in the NCLEX Discussion. It would help relieve all the anxiety on waiting for the official results.

I just learned through Pearson Vue's Quick Results service that I passed! I did it at 75. Thank you for your replies. :)

Congratulations:yeah::yeah::yeah:

does Maryland also require SSN like CA?

Unsure if Maryland requires a ss# like California your best bet is to go to the Maryland website and do some reading on there to see if it states so. If not, then you should contact them directly and ask them. Good Luck

Congrats! as long as you're diligent in yourNCLEX review], you'll fare well in the nclex. yes, maryland has quick results. or you can do the pearsonvue] trick.

If you go to their state website (links can be found for state BON's at the bottom of the page or in the site map) and follow instructions for International trained

Remember you are not applying for NCLEX but to be licensed in the state as a nurse

thanks for that information. :)
