NCLEX JUNE 12th

Published

Hi everyone, I graduated on May 12th and I am taking my NCLEX June 12th. I just got my ATT yesterday and I signed up yesterday! I am using the Kaplan review book, Saunders Comprehensive Book, the Saunders Q&A Review book, Exam Cram Review and Exam Cram Practice Questions. I am veryyyyy nervous because I got hired as a new grad in an intensive care unit and I start my job July 2nd. I HAVE to pass my boards or I don't have a job... I called the hospital and talked to the lady who hired me and asked her what would happen if I failed and she said basically we might work with you but I can't answer that questions right now. So... I am stressing myself out more knowing I have to pass on the first try... I would have to wait 45 days to take it again, and by that time, it would be too late. I know I am setting myself up for failure by thinking about my job, and I am trying to do everything I can to stay confident and positive, but I am super worried. I heard that the questions are "like nothing I would have ever seen," but how is this possible? Don't all the NCLEX-RN review books based off of the test? Also, I am worried because I have been reading many responses about select all that apply questions... I am terrible at these and I am so worried I am going to fail.

HELP I NEED SOME ADVICE!!!! Am I doing the right thing? Studying the right way?

Oh and I ALSO have to have surgery May 30th and I don't have an option... It is necessary for me to have the surgery... I need HELP!

Someone please give me advice!!!!!!!!

Have you thought about signing up for a Kaplan course? You can take 3 ways: in class; via "virtual" class (i.e. you log on at a set time each day and attend class online); or through open study of their materials online. If you are this concerned about it, I think it could be helpful. They give you a systematic method of approaching questions that is helpful for staying focused.

I have no connection with Kaplan, BTW - just personally am finding the course very helpful.

My school had a mandatory review class that came to our school and was a live review for a week. It was the company evolve and from who I have talked to, it is the same concept. Thank you for the idea.. And I have considered it.

Are you studying with any other materials?

My exam is June 12th as well. I graduated March 16th.

I have done Kaplan and Saunders so far. Almost finished with Saunders. Then I plan to do Lippincott's and hopefully NCLEX 4000 before the test. I also have PDA from a coworker that I plan to quickly look through.

My best advise is practice answer questions, at least a 100 a day and see what your weaknesses are.

Also, try to relax, passing rate for the NCLEX is in the high 80s for 1st time test takers.

Another option is ATI, you can take the TEAS exam and see how ready you are.

QuenymamiLPN good luck to you on June 12th! I was not aware that the average was 80% for first time takers... That makes me feel a bit better! I have been doing questions but find myself struggling with the select all that apply... I don't know how to get around that barrier!

Miniangel2 I have looked in the Hurst Review... I am strongly considering it! I think I am going to sign up right now.... I have a stung faith in GOD and I have been praying my butt off! I know he will guide me, and He will guide you and all who believe!
