NCLEX and IRS

I have a dilema!

I am planning on taking my NCLEX Jan, 2011 (IL) but I heard that I can not sit for the exam if I owe money to IRS.

I am in the middle of trying to get a deal with them so I don't have to pay the full amount but as of now I still don't have any monthly payments.

Does anybody know anything about that? If yes, is there any website that I can check that at?

Thank you in advance for help!

Depends what state you're applying for licensure in, I think. I know some states have questions on their applications as to whether you owe taxes, child support, etc. Perhaps they feel it shows poor moral character such that they will not license those people until they take care of their obligations.

I would pose this question to your state Board. They are the ones who set the licensing standards for your state. Good luck.
