NCLEX highs and woes...

Nursing Students NCLEX

I just wanted to make a quick post concerning my NCLEX experience. Like many, my computer shut off at 75 ?'s, was mostly all prioritizing, no calculations, no therapuetic communication, drugs I've never heard of, etc. It was horrible. I walked out of the testing center feeling numb :confused: and stupid :banghead:. I was a wreck :bluecry1: during the whole two days waiting for my results. I even did exactly what not to do... I looked up some of the few questions I could remember to see if I "guessed" right. (:nono: don't do this, it WILL drive you crazy!) But I also got online and read about many of you who had the same experience as I :typing. Although I was still a wreck, many stories did help me cope a little bit better. When I logged on today and found out I passed, I was hysterical and relieved:rotfl:. So to anyone who is preparing for the NCLEX: Study those prioritizing questions. Know the suffixes of drugs (i.e. -olol=beta blockers, etc), this will help you to figure out at least what the drug is for. Think positive, say "I will pass the NCLEX" out loud. And Good Luck!:nurse:

:yelclap: congrats!!!! what day did you take the test and in what state?

I have to say I felt the same way. My test was so mixed up that I did not know which way was up. I am glad, however that the process is over. In the last week, I have slept about 3 hours a night. I woke up last night at least 3 times and tried to say to myself "go back to sleep until 6:30". Do you know how hard that was. I am glad that it is over and I pray that this will be the only time.

Beetle01 I took my test in Nevada on Tues 6/26 (a day I'll never forget.) Thanks for the congrats!

ORNURSETOBE I know exactly what you mean about sleep! I actually got a prescription for some sleep aids a couple of weeks ago just so I could get a good night's sleep before and after the test!

Congratulations new Nurse:balloons::nurse:

Hi all, just a note from an "OLD" (male) RN BSN, long story shortened.. I was licensed in 1980, had a successful career, got sick, had to go on disability, well, I'm a SURVIVOR, and have returned, I took Kaplan's review and studied till I got my PTT and ok from Florida to TEST- Just sat for my first (hopefully only!) NCLEX-RN EXAM from 11:15am till about 1:40pm TODAY 6/29! Well, I was still in the running at 75 when the computer stopped and asked if I wanted a break, I thought I'd die, just knowing my education was 30 years ago!!!It was going to stop and~Iwould fail, but I declined the break that was offered, and my test continued til at 115 or so, then it quit, and I'm certain the last question (that was a remix of one prior) was correct- I'm OPTOMISTIC and will call for quick results on Tuesday 7/3, Please wish me LUCK, I'm 55, have my health back, and hope to enjoy returning to bedside and unit care, and of course financial freedom(at least it'll be better than disability was).. best of luck to anyone taking the NCLEX-RN exam.. Jeff
