  1. beanieweenie, I know how you feel. You are not alone! I too graduated amost a year ago and thought I would be working by now! I'm studying now for my 4th time. The struggle of staying motivated is tough. I too am working and studying. I can't wait to put away all the NCLEX materials. Just remember that you have what it takes to be a nurse...you do! Passing this test is just a little hump you have to get over. Not passing the NCLEX is NOT a predictor for how you care for your patients. Your probably an excellent nurse with a great passion for helping others! Chin up, our time will come!
  2. Hey Capuzcapuz, Nothing here...still waiting! I'll do my best to answer your questions based on my past experiences...... 1. The only way to know if you pass/fail is by the mail. You WILL get a letter either way. (My experience from both previous times was exactly 17 days, counting weekends from the day after my test date via mail, big white envelope...failed). Since you just graduated and this was your first time taking the test I would call the BRN and ask if anything is holding up your file. Meaning, do they have your transcripts, background check, fingerprints etc. If any of this is missing your name will not be posted on the BRN. (Don't suspect you failed until you talk to the BRN and they tell you that they have everything they need from you). 2. You can retest 45 days from the day you took the test. (day one would be Aug. 24th for you). If you have to retake the test your re-apllication slip will be in your failure letter. Resubmit the application with your $75 fee and then you have to register again with pearsonvue and give them another $200. Your ATT will be issued and you can reschedule your test date as long as it is after your 45 day mark. The ATT will say what date your test has to be taken after. 3. You have to call kaplan and tell them that you didn't pass. They will ask you for a copy of your failure letter to be faxed or mailed to them. They will ask you if you would like to attend another class or if you would like to extend your Qbank/Qtrainer instead of a full refund. If you want the full refund they will only refund your $500 however you orginially paid for the class. If you paid by credit card, your $500 will credited back to the card. No cash refunds unless you paid with cash. My refund took about 3 weeks. I hope this helps! If I can help you with anything else let me know. I do have one question for you.....what review courses did your classmates take to help them pass the test other than kaplan? Let me know what the BRN tells you...good luck! Talk to you soon! ;)Beetle
  3. Hey Capuzcapuz, My job basically told me the same thing. Nothing like kicking you while you are down. I too did the kaplan review after graduation. After failing the first time I did get my $500 dollars back. But as you study for the test a second time, knowing what type and how questions are asked on the NCLEX, you realize that kaplan is the most similar (atleast to me). With that said, I then purchased the QBank at kaplan to continue doing questions. Ughhhh. If there's a next time......(maybe not, fingers crossed)....I'd like to take a different approach. After I failed the test I got information in the mail from Sally Lagerquist about her review. Here is her website http://nclex.reviewfornurses.com. It's set up much like kaplan. Her review prep has a 98% pass rate for the NCLEX for first and multiple time test takers...good enough for me!!! Lets wait and see what this week brings...talk to you soon!
  4. Ahh...thanks (and I'm a woman :))! I'm glad we have each other to talk to. Well, maybe the CA BON is really behind! That's a big gap in result time for your classmates. The BON is a true mystery. Who knows how things operate over there! You're right, no big purchases (maybe a lotto ticket)! If we don't find out anything tomorrow morning then we hit the Labor Day holiday back up. No news is good news right? For all the San Francisco test takers and ones close by......if things don't go as planned and we have to battle this again....would anyone be willing to maybe do a review together? I know of Sally Lagerquist of S.F. who helps with NCLEX review or if anyone knows of any other NCLEX review. Just a thought! We don't have to think about that until the time comes! Wishing and hoping for exciting news for all of us! Keep everyone posted and have a great weekend;)
  5. Has anyone heard yet???
  6. Hey guys....Still no results here! Still hoping....:)
  7. Hi Capuzcapuz, I know what you are going through! I hope we pass too! There are a lot of us on here who are in the same boat, you and I especially.... I too went to 265 in San Francisco, have a job, and I 'm planning a wedding. This past week has been the worst. The CA BON didn't update one day last week and then this morning it took them forever to update! Keep me posted.....I'll be thinking of you!
  8. Way to go RN.......CONGRATS!!!!!:smiley_aa
  9. Just checking in....has anyone heard anything yet? No luck on this end. Still trying to stay positive :)
  10. No results here yet...anyone else?
  11. your test sounded like mine! I too had priority, 7-8 select all that apply and 2 fill in math calculations.....My fingers are crossed for all of us!
  12. Knight Nurse and Chefynars, Where in California did you guys test?
  13. Don't give up yet....If you think about it the CA website says August 27th, we both took our test Aug 22, technically thats a difference of only 4 days bc you can't count the day you took the test and of those 4 days 2 were the weekend. We can't loose hope...give it a couple more days!
  14. Jazzysmika....I just responded to your message on my original thread of the 8/22 test date. I too took the test last Wednesday for the third time too. This is a struggle, I know what you are going through. I did Kaplan for my first, second, and third time taking the test. I too used Saunders as well as Mosby's illustrated RN review. My content area isn't weak either its how I read the question. I over think the question. Then I doubt myself. If I was to take the test orally I would nail it and you probably would too! I did well in school and never in my life have I had a "test taking disability," if you will. I don't feel that axiety is winning me over when I'm taking the test, sure the normal pre-jitters but nothing to the point where I can't focus. Well, we know the drill and how the BON works and since we haven't seen our name posted we know whats to come in the mail. It's hard to think positive when we've been in this situation two other times. If this makes you feel any better.....I did what your not supposed to do and I called the BON this morning. Like I said in my other post to you the BON website had a glitch of some sort and yesterday reverted back to what the website said last Friday. (Last updated Friday August 23). I called I asked what happened and if the BON was behind. The man told me, "We did have a glitch in the system. We weren't able to input RN licenses." I said, "Does that mean that you are behind? I took my test last Wednesday, did it get caught up in all the mess?" He said, "Yes, they told us that they were going to solve the problem by today but they are moving like snails. Your my 4th call this moring about this. I would check the BON by Friday and we apologize." That was our conversation. If you've ever called the BON before they want you off the phone and usually you end the call knowing less then before you called. This guy must have been new! But it gives us hope! Please keep me posted on your results! Your not alone and I'm hoping for the best for the both of us!
  15. Hey Jazzysmika, I'm glad to know someone is in the same boat as me. Did you notice that the CA BON had a glitch in the system this past weekend? If you looked on the website yesterday you would have noticed that it said "last updated Friday August 23." Something went wrong. I'm trying to stay positive. Most of my friends took the test on a Monday or Tuesday and they found out thier results by Thursday/Friday. Since I took mine on Wednesday I have nothing to compare to. I don''t know whats the norm for result time for people like us! Hopefully we will have good news coming our way! How many questions did you get?
