I just graduated nursing school the first week a May. I have been studying for the big NCLEX, but really I feel like I haven't been getting the most out of my studying. So far the tools I have are VATI, ATI Android APP, Hurst, Saunders 5th edition with CD, Mosby's review cards, NCLEX 4000, AN Study guide. I am having a hard time going about on how to use these resources, yet I am still debating on buying Kaplans 2012-2013 strategies book and Lacharity Priortization, Delgation, and Assignment book. So I really could use some advice and encouragement!!!

My opinion is you can study too little and you can study too much. For myself, I like to keep it to only a few study items otherwise I feel like I'm studying all over the place & not completely concentrating. I've found ATI to be wrong sometimes. I do like the idea of LaCharity & I'm not familiar with Kaplan. We all have different study habits, so go with your instinct ;-) Good luck!

I bought the old version (08-09) of the Kaplan strategies book on amazon for 4 cents. Our Kaplan instructor told us it's essentially the same thing! I wasn't going to buy it because I didn't want to spend more money on the NCLEX but when I saw a copy for 4 cents I bought it and I think it's great.
It's small, concise and easy to read and has some good tips.
I have Lacharity also. I'm not using it to study for NCLEX because I used it to study for my nursing school exams so I've done all of the case studies at least 6 times but I definitely recommend it. I don't remember it being expensive and it definitely taught me how to properly prioritize and delegate. I consistently score 80-90% in practice tests on the Management of Care section because of that book!
Hope that helps!

I used the Saunders 5th edition CD, that thing is great! The only problem is, you sometimes get the same questions, but you can just skip it and move on to the next. I was told to do 100 questions a day, as if you were taking a 100 question test, then review the rationals when you're done. You will pick up a bit of info each time you get one wrong. Good Luck!
