  1. I find myself talking, well sometimes YELLING at my patients when communicating with them!!! Does anyone else find themselves doing this? One time a patient said "honey, why are you talking so loud" and another "can you lower your voice"...hahaha! I think it comes from assuming that a patient with ANY type of deficit can not HEAR. Also, I think it's from trying to talk over alarms, trach collar humidification bubbling away, TVs, etc. However, I find myself talking LOUDLY to everyone now!!! My husband says "Geez, I'm right here!!" when I am talking to him...LOL. Is anyone else fighting this battle fo assuming that EVERYONE is DEAF???? ANY TIPS OR IDEAS WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!
  2. I know how you feel, it's very frustrating when they don't have the courtesy to return your call when you are following up on an interview.
  3. Congrats to everyone! I just hope this "pop-up" is accurate! I already changed my resume from LPN to RN and have sent it to a few prospective employers! HOPEFULLY I'M NOT JINXING MYSELF!!!
  4. I have heard that the message is accurate, have not heard or read anything that anyone has said that they got it and failed. I took mine today too, and I'm waiting for the official pass! So here's hoping the "pop-up" message is correct!!! Congrats to you!
  5. I used the Saunders 5th edition CD, that thing is great! The only problem is, you sometimes get the same questions, but you can just skip it and move on to the next. I was told to do 100 questions a day, as if you were taking a 100 question test, then review the rationals when you're done. You will pick up a bit of info each time you get one wrong. Good Luck!
  6. I had 75 questions, was done in 45 minutes. I took it today, got the good "pop-up" but no REAL results yet!
  7. I had my test today too, I feel the same as you, alot of SATA, some Drag n' Drops, and some Exhibits and NO MATH THANK GOODNESS! LOL! Got 75 questions and the "good pop-up"!!! I have read that the pop-up is accurate, but I am anxiously awaitng to see the word "active" on the BON site! Congrats to you! I feel the test questions were right to the point and not filled with a bunch of crap to confuse you, like the tests given in school. The test wasn't easy, but it wasn't really hard either...it's weird! You leave there not knowing what to think of it.
  8. Congrats to you!!!
  9. I think your managers and co-workers will respect you for joining the reserves; I do beleive that most employers are required to work around the schedules of those in the reserves. Good luck to you!
  10. Congrats! I took mine today too and got the good pop-up!!!
  11. That is great! Congrats to you!
  12. The best thing to do is NCLEX style questions and read the rationals. Each time you get an answer wrong, you learn a little bit of something new, just try to remember the BASIC information about it and then your brain will put 2 and 2 together when you see it again. Also, when you get an anwer wrong, and the rational doesn't help you, go back and BRIEFLY review your notes on the topic. Trying to "study" and remember every little thing leaves is soooo overwhelming...been there done that. The worst feeling in the world is waiting to take the NCLEX!!! I wish you luck!!!
  13. Thanks!!!
  14. Thank you!!!
  15. Did you do the Pearson Vue trick???
