Nclex harder than Kaplan?

For those of you who took Kaplan:

Is the Nclex harder than the questions Kaplan gives you? I have only scored from 62-66% on Kaplan's question trainers and am worried I'm not ready. I take the test in 2 days! ah!

I chose not to take any review courses, I studied on my own. From what I'm hearing from many of my friends that took Kaplan, the NCLEX questions are easier.

I did not find the NCLEX to be THAT hard. I thought the questions were very straight forward and to the point.

There's nothing you can study that will prepare you for that test. It's not the questions that are hard, it choosing the correct answer from the list of answers given to you. There's always two that you have to decide upon

I hear NCLEX is doing away with the picture questions where they ask you to point a specific part of the body. Is that true

I didn't have any of those questions on my exam. However when I was going through the tutorial before I took it, the computer basically taught you how to point and click if you were to have a question like that. So maybe they are still there. If they are there you wouldn't have that many I'm assuming. Just work on prioritizing. I wouldn't mind missing pointing to the correct spot on a picture.

Thank you so very much, You are in my prayers, are you going to pay the $8 to find out or you will wait till your BON notifies you?

I am a nervous wreck right now myself and the funny thing is during my LPN days I didn't hustle like that. This time around I have studied and still feel inadequate but like you advised me yesterday I am not going to reschedule I will go in thursday and face it will all I have.

I am definately paying that 8 dollars. I will not be productive without knowing. The best thing to do is just face it and deal with it. Like I said, you can study all day. The disease process doesn't matter. If you do get a question related to diabetes or whatever, it will not be about the specific disease process-i mean, none of the choices will be polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia or when and how to give insulin--basic stuff. The answers you have to choose from are so weird. And like I said the majority of that test was priority, who do you transport, select all that apply.

Alright lilmama we will see what happens thursday I will definetly keep you posted. Let me know what happens I am sure you will do just fine. God is on our side

I had gospel music blasting in my car on the way there. All I could do was talk to God. I kept singing "I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me"

This even tells me you passed!

Hope you're right:bugeyes:

I have my fingers crossed for you lilmama! Any advice for those about to take the exam? What review course did you take, if any?

The only advice I can give is get a book specifically dedicated to prioritization. I pretty much went it on my own. I didn't take any review courses. From what I've heard, you buy a review book and just work out of it. I didn't want to waste my time. Don't spend your time focused on disease processes or what not. You need to know what you would do first in any given situation.
