ok so here is my goofy situation. going to purdue in indiana graduating in may of 08 then moving to hawaii for one year to be with hubby in the air force. i would like to spend as much time there as i can and am thinking about taking the nclex in hi. my questions are.. would it be easier for me to just wait and do it in indiana and transfer lisences later. can you take the nclex and be lisenced in more then one state at a time? and in hawaii can i work as a graduate nurse with a degree from purdue before i get my actual license??

so many questions! thanks guys!

I used to be a travel nurse, and in that case, I had my license in 3 different states---florida, texas, Oklahoma....this was about 5-6 years ago; my original license was from florida; then I got one in texas and it was endorsed by florida, and the same with oklahoma. From what i remember, some states take longer to process the endorsements. when you take the nclex, you get licensed only for that state, and then you can get the license endorsed in other states; at least that's how it used to be...my florida license expired, and so did my oklahoma one; i just have a texas one now. NOt sure about the rest of the inquiries, but you can always email or call the states that do the licensing and find out for sure what it takes.... :)
