Hello everyone,
I am freaking out about my NCLEX which is coming up in a couple of days. I have studied as much as I could. Studied three months straight. Doing Kaplan & uworld. Some basic content. I'm not doing so well on UWORLD but not doing horrible. Scores range 40-60%. Thought I did get one 90/%.
kaplan is okay, scores range 50-60% also.
Since I test in the next couple of days, I took off of work (third shifter). I'm going to watch the Kaplan content videos & review my flash cards & look up anything that I do not know or feel comfortable with & sleep early.
There's not much more I can do, I guess my question really is Kaplan & UWORLD, really helpful?
Hello. I kept following this blog. I took my nclex last April 27,2016. It was horrible and I kept telling myself I'm failing during the exam.My computer stop at 159 questions.before it stops,I remember I answered a SATA question and then a a multiple choice before my screen went on blue. My questions were 15 SATAS,medical-surgical,prioritization and delegation, infection control, psychiatric questions and a bunch more. My head was frantically dizzy with all the questions.i guess I have failed the exam.
Globe, You have a defeatist attitude. If you failed, you did it before you even took this exam, you should have canceled, and why did you focus so much attention on how many type questions you received?
Never sit for the exam with pass or fail in mind. You take the exam and tell yourself you will do the best you can.
By the way, did you know that this exam is adaptive? Yep, just for you, and every time you answer a question the computer reestimate's your ability. As the test goes along and with each question you answer the estimation gets more precise. This exam is measuring your ability, and therefore makes sure you don't get too many difficult or too many easy questions. The questions stop, when you either failed or passed the exam.
Do you know you failed? It sound like you are assuming you did. If you fail it should not come as any surprise, but if you pass, hey great. Worse case scenario, you fail... it has nothing to do with your knowledge or ability, but it does sound like you have terrible test anxiety.
I feel for you kiddo... hang in there and just breathe.
It ain't over until it's over
Thank you, I did pass. My name and license were both posted on the Ohio board of nursing this morning at 10:22am.
i had 205 questions. For studying I used UWORLD & Kaplan self paced. I started studying feb 26th & I studied until April 29th. I started off doing 20 -30 questions a day. Some days I would do more depending how I felt. But from my NCLEX on Saturday. I'm gonna say study delegation & priority, practice select all that apply & math and you should possibly be good. I didn't study much content. Just what appeared on my qbanks & UWORLD as I did my questions!
i really walked outta there and swore I failed! I'm sure you can do it
