Kaplan will help you with their Decision Tree. Once you’re able to fully understand how to use it, you’ll find yourself critically thinking and analyzing both the question and the options. I also used UWorld but it didn’t work out for me that well, others like it though. I guess it just depends on which one will really suit your way of studying.
Practicing questions is the key in my opinion. But don’t overwhelm yourself. Do at least 150 questions per day. Then review each question. Make sure you understand why you get the item wrong, even when you get it right. Answer questions in a quiet place, no food, gadgets that will distract you from doing your practice questions. Take a break when you have to. Just pretend you’re in the actual testing center. This worked well for me in preparing for the long hours of testing. I prepared myself to answer all 265 questions. That way I I didn’t lose focus and didn’t panic when after question 75 I kept on getting questions.
I dont have kaplan and Dont have the funds to do that now. Can you please share to le how to do the decision tree ? My email is [email protected]. Thanks.
I studied for 7 weeks and I used U-World and N-Powerment.
N-Powerment is this book of everything you need to know for the NCLEX and comes with cue cards of the lab values/immunization records/rhythm strips/drugs you need to know. I also attended the live review, but they also have online reviews. It was expensive but totally worth it.
I just went through each section of the N-Powerment book each week and when it came closer to the actual exam, I reviewed the cue cards.
I used U-World about 3 months before my test date. I would choose different topics and do 20 questions each time. When it got closer to the exam, I did quizzes of 75 questions and was getting in the ranges of 58-72%, which is good for U-World.
Two days before my exam I did the “self assessment” on U-World and scored 63% and 72nd percentile, which was a “very high chance of passing”.
When writing always think about ABC’s and priority (MG patients, sickle cell, chest pain).
I wrote two days later in 95 questions and found out the next day, I passed!! I am officially a Registered Nurse.
Good luck.
I haven't gotten my results yet, but I used UWorld, skimmed through my Saunders NCLEX review book, and listened to a few of Mark Klimeks (admittedly got bored after lecture 4 and stopped...). The vast majority of my classmates that already found out they passed used UWorld. I'll know if I passed tomorrow morning.

Best Answer. You are looking for the MOST right/idea answer. ATI and Prep-U will prepare you with knowledge and plenty of questions. The Nclex questions felt easy & obvious after all the practice questions and ATI remediation. I also passed in 75.
