Im taking the nlcex for the second time, the first time I took it, i failed but recieved my analysis and I was close to passing in all the subjects. I failed bc of I didn't review much I though nursing school had thought me enough i took hesi's after every course, pulled an all nigheter because i was freaking out, got stuck in traffic on my way to the center, and signed a new lease to the new place i am currently living in, this all happen on the day of my first test. I am taking it for the second time in a few days, I have done kaplan my scores were 48, 55, 48, 55, 55, 55. I am reviewing a few items as the day draws near. I am so nervous im freaking out even when i review the content. I need major motivation, all my friends that went to school with me are working and im havent started yet, my parents who are both nurses say that its no big deal but i think that they are watching to see if i pass. I took the kaplan in december for one week, reviewed a little in januarary and studied for 2 1/2 weeks in febrary in all i have studied for 3 1/2 weeks for this second exam. should i take it? how do i get rid of this nervousness? and any tips for this exam? are my kaplan scores good enough?..... see im rambling...pray for me

Wishing you good luck. Just calm down and prepare. You will pass.

1. Take a deep breath!

2. Pick a review book you like

3. Do questions daily (you are bound to run into the same answer again!)

4. Figure out your weakness, and correct it

5. Day before test...chill out...nothing more can be learned

***Most importantly***

6. Believe...Say outloud that you WILL be a nurse. The brain will soon follow...

i will include you in my prayers....goodluck to us....

i will pray for u jus lik i am prayin for myself i havent passed yet either and it is very stressful!!

Do as much of the Qbank as possible that kaplan offer this will really help you to get in the mode of answering NCLEX style questions. My test scores were similar to yours but the odd few in the 60's and I passed.

I completed all the question trainers and 90% of the qbank in kaplan before taking exam.

Take a deep breath and go for it..... dont study a thing the day before the exam just relax and go refreshed the following day.

I took my test yesterday it was scheduled for 12noon and I got there at 10am. They let me take the test at 11. Got 75 questions finished at 12:08 exactly.I dont have my results yet. I am freaking out like everyone else. I had about 10 multiple answer choices, 3 questions that i had to put in order for performing certain procedures, about 25% of my test was on meds, not med calc but actual medications that I have never heard off and had to know what they were for. I know lots of meds but leave it to the test to give me some meds I have never seen before. I took kaplan and I think the test looks closest to kaplan. I saw some of the material I studied in the kaplan book on there. I tried the trick and it told me I couldn't register. I am less anxious from trying the trick but now the long wait. I have to be the millionth person to ask. Does the trick work? praying

Just tell yourself...IF I'M GETTING QUESTIONS, I'M STILL IN THE GAME! Don't get discouraged if you have to go alll the way through the test to 265. Treat every question with just as much intensity as the first...it's exhausting, but it's completely worth it! Be positive, YOU CAN DO IT!
