Hello all! I've been so busy studying for this exam I haven't checked this board....sorry! ;)

Tonya,

Thanks for the offer on the Cd....if I had met you sooner I'd have definately taken you up on it. Darn! I'm taking my exam Friday morning so I have only 3 days left to cram. I'm not sure if I'll postpone it. One minute I say yes, the next minute I say no...I think I'll just go get it over with and pray for the best!

I was curious about the Maric curriculum comment though....what do you think they needed to change to help us prepare? That makes me a bit nervous!!! :o

DeLynn,

Congratulations on passing!!! Woohoo!!!! You must feel GREAT!!!

Now what are your plans? Have any special interests?

Myabutrn,

Hang in there. I can't tell you if you should postpone it. I'm having that dilemma myself, and I figure I have at least a 50/50 shot at this thing, so I'm probably just going to go for it and see what happens. I'm hoping for the best. I'm taking mine Friday morning, so when you get done taking yours on Thursday come back and tell me how it was!!! :D

loriLPN,

Thanks to you for your insight. I took some time last night to read the booklet that came with the ATT, and it told all about how they test you easy to hard and then back down and up again in a rollercoaster effect until you get 50% right and 50% wrong. At that point the computer looks at your competency level and its a pass or fail. That can happen at 85, or up to 205 questions. The scarey part is after reading numerous posts in the LPN Corner about how mostly everyone passes at 85, I just found out my friend knows someone who failed at 85. So....the moral of the story? You just don't know until you get your results! I just wish I lived in a humane state that lets you find out in a couple of days instead of a month! Yikes!!!

Thanks you guys for all your help!

You guys, let me know how your tests go.

Well now that I have my license I'm trying to figure out what I want to do. LTC pays the best, but the hours aren't the greatest. I think I might be hired in an office with great hours/work atmosphere, but the pay is $2.50 less plus not as much PTO (paid time off) I don't know what to do.

Hello Everyone......just wanted to let you know I just got home from the exam......

It stopped at 85 questions.....I can tell you this.....As I did the exam, I was thinking "Oh, Man. It could be any one of a number of answers"......So, I narrowed it down and took a shot in the dark.

I didn't cry "too" much when I got out of there.....just got a "little" choked up coz it was over....and now I wait!!!!!

Sooooo........I've heard people fail at 85, and I've heard people pass at 85......I hope I'm one that passed!!! I'll be sure to let you know!

Thanks for all your support....

Good Luck to you all...

I too just took my boards. (1-30-04) I think this weekend is going to be the longest weekend of my life!I won't know if I passed until Monday and I am a nervous wreck. My computer shut off at 85, I left there feeling so defeated! I was completely floored by the questions on the exam. My test consisted of a variety of questions (cardio, renal, nervous, maternity, ortho... etc) You name it, it was on my exam! I only had 1 math (Pharm) question.

All I know is I'm not feeling too confident right now. I hope to be proved wrong Monday!

Lots of luck and many prayers to you all!

Congratulations to everyone that passed so far!!!

I got three offers on Friday and decided to take the one in LTC. Not only was the pay the best, but I think I'll learn a lot there, being a new nurse I don't want to lose the skills I learned in school, and I felt the office environment would limit me.

I'm also starting on my pre-req's for RN. I start Chemistry on Monday, YUCK!

Let me know on Monday when you get your results!! I'm sure you did fine, I felt like I failed too, and I passed with 85 ques.

I'm doing the same as you. I'm working towards my ADN and working in LTC subacute for the experience. I also felt like so uncertain about the nclex and I shut off at 85 too. But, I passed. :-)

I just went on Pearson VUE's website and got my results....

I PASSED!!!!!!!!

I wasn't supposed to find out until Monday but I just kept checking the website until the option asking for my credit card info showed up. I checked this morning and it wasn't available then checked again about 2 hours later and it was there!

Good luck & Best wishes to each of you.
