Any one pass nclex pn without studying it too hard?

I didnt study any nclex book or anything really, just reviewed some notes from school. But the thing with me is, I took my boards as soon as I was allowed. It was probably a week after I was done with school, so everything was still really fresh in my mind. You will do fine, just dont think about too much or you will over think every question. I got mt ATT on December 5th and took my test on December 9th. I got my results today (Monday, January 12th, 2008). It took 5 weeks to get my pass letter but I DID IT.

The only studying I did was from the CD in the BIG FAT ORANGE "SAUNDER'S" NCLEX-PN review book. I started reviewing the material the night I got my ATT and scheduled my test until right before I went to bed the night before the test by taking the 100 question "exams". There was a post partem question on my test that I would have gotten wrong if I had not reviewed the night before the test so it pays to study.

People in my class who have taken the test already have told me that their test was all over the board as far as specific subjects. They didn't tell me exactly what subjects were on the test but there was no specific subject concentration.

My advice: know nursing interventions and priorities, read each part of the question carefully and read all of the answers completely. Go into the test CALM, well rested and well fed. Don't get stressed or over anxious. You will do fine.

Just schedule the test and get it over with.

thanks for the advice mommyofnini.....im studying saunders CD too...im only concentrating on pharmacolody..cuz that was my weakness last exam....there is soo much subject or catigory on saunders CD....even if i was to focuse on a lot of the subject im sure i cannot remember everything...thats y i feel overwelmed ...i dont know which subject to focus on cuz you dont know what is going to be on the test....

I clicked on all of the subjects so the test would randomly generate questions. Honestly, I only had 5 pharm questions on my exam while other people in my class had as little as 3 and as much as 10 or more. Try having the CD use all the subjects to do a random 100 question test.

If you want to see how you are doing based on how they score the test, get a sheet of graph paper and draw a line through it horizontally. Take your 100 questions and review each one of them. Here's where the graph comes in:

start on "the line" (the one you drew on the graph paper)

if you get the first question correct, you put a dot on the line

if you get it wrong, make a dot one square below the line...

every correct answer after the first gets a dot above your last answer

every incorrect answer after the first gets a dot below your last answer

keep this going until you have graphed all of your answers

if your answers are above "the line", you pass NCLEX style

if your answers are below "the line", you do not pass NCLEX style

My school provided an NCLEX review class post graduation and our teacher (of the review class) told us this is the way the NCLEX is graded. She used to write for the NCLEX but since she's teaching this class, it's a conflict of interest so she's not writing for the test anymore.

I hope this helps you. It sure helped me when I reviewed for my exam. I never got over a 74% on the Saunders CD but I was WAY ABOVE "the line" with each test.

Sweetie I have failed my nclex three times I am so ashamed to say. Please do not let this discourage you at all! Everytime I reschedule I do the same thing My problem is I dont feel like i know How to study for it and I have no support and encouragement at home. I am sure you will do fine and you are NOT a failure I think it's normal how you feel. I am up for the furth time who knows but i keep rescheduliing too.

Don't be nervous. My exit exam for LPN school was June 6th, graduation was June 22nd (that was the day that our school sent all our info so our ATT's could be issued) and I took my NCLEX the day after I got my ATT (which was July 9th) It was either that day or I had to wait until late September to test as all the testing centers within decent driving distance were full until then, I passed.

They do say test as soon as you can for the NCLEX. The sooner the better. Honestly I don't think anyone ever thinks they are "ready" enough. I didn't study per se, I just threw in the CD from our NCLEX-PN practice book and did some tests from graduation until testing.

thanks alot, but for some reason no matter how much i have studied and all the tests that i have passed, i still don't feel like i know enough to pass the boards... maybe that is just me, i don't know... but i do know that i am very ready for this year to be over.... nursing school is very hard... we have our comp finals next week and then we graduate on june 11... gosh i can't wait....

so what happened? did you write and pass?

Did you work as a grad nurse after you were done your course so you were getting front line experience?

When you aren't studying read read read....you have to be able to read and understand English well to write the exams.
