From my understanding and everything I have read in the brochure provided at Pearson Vue the NCLEX exam doesnt vary from state to state ...just make sure you apply for a license in Virginia and by their guidelines...check with the Virginia state board of nursing for more information.

If you have no intention of working in Florida, why pay for a license there? You can take the actual exam in any Pearson Vue center. With appointment of course.

I graduated in May 2004 from Penn State (PA) but took boards in Va. The test is standerdized nationwide, i just didn't want to pay two licenseing fees. (one to PA and one to Va) Contact Virginia Board of Nursing. They will send you a packet guiding you on what to do. allow at least 2 monthes before you want to begin work in VA.

NCLEX is a national exam, the same exam is taken for any of the 50 states where you will be working. You can take the exam anywhere that you wish, if they have a testing center. The only thing is that the state where you wish to get licensed will be handling your details. You need to apply to them for licensure by examination. Just follow exactly what their applicaiton tells you to do.
