If you can,try to pay for all your exams by July 1st because the NC exams will cost $270 v/s $235 and the new curriculum will go from $205 to 235. With that said, I would tackles the rest in the same order because in my opinion, the bar on the rest of the exams are raised and they are wanting you to get close to 70% in all categories. Don't take NC 5 last because some people fail it and just in case your in the number, 60 days will have passed B4 you can take it again. Not saying that you wont pass but just in case. I failed HD2 which is equivalent to NC 5 and a few more people on here was unsuccessful with this exam the first time. Its is very difficult.
Oh, this is starting to get stressful! I was just reviewing the price increases myself.......I guess I never realized that Info Lit was $300???? That is absolutely ridiculous. I am dying to be CPNE elgible by Sept. However, I am not working this summer (partly so I can get this done and partly because I honestly cannot find a decent summer job). So, money is tight.. I am Michigan and our economy is #50! My husband may flip when I give him the breakdown of how I want to spend $1000 by July 1st on top of not having any income from me!
I'm about to take Lifespan 1...which is NC4. I read the content guide for NC5 and I think I'm going to be taking that before moving on to NC6. I love psych stuff in NC5 as opposed to Neuro stuff in NC6, just go in order...I think it's a great balance between the exams when you do them this way. NC7...which is unlike all the other exams can be taken pretty much whenever you choose.
Erin....what are you using for study for NC4? I'm using Chancellors and Studygroup101.
I did NC4 and NC7 kinda overlapping, then NC5 a few weeks later. NC7 is so different than the others -- it was easy for me to study both NC4 and NC7 and keep all the info straight!
Hey Lunah, so what's in store for you now? When do you get pinned, graduate.....when does your name go to the SBON? What specialty are you thinking about once RN is behind your name?
Again, congrats:yeah::yeah:

I should be all "graduated" in about 4 weeks, and EC will send my transcripts to the Virginia BON at that time. But my official graduation/conferral date will be August 15 (just found that out when I called EC the other day). Fortunately I don't have to wait for my graduation date in Virginia to take the boards! :)
I'm going to continue working in the ER. I start the hospital's emergency nursing fellowship on 7/15.

Hello! I am in the process of registering for NC 4 right now and would like to register for an additional exam too.. My original plan was to try and do NC 4/NC5 at the same time.......Only because I already have my study material for both of them. However, with corresponding with some people, they are recommending that I do 4, 6 and then go back to 5. What do you all think? I basically just spent 2 weeks on NC 3 and can't decide if I want to do another exam in 2 weeks or try to double up and do two in 2-3 weeks. Is it possible to do something like that? I HAVE to get these done this summer.....preferably by Aug. 18th.
