Just wondering who has received this and can you please provide any details? When were the funds dispersed? Since it's for nursing, did they stick to the 11 credit hours being part time? Any info is appreciated!

I was denied FELS help because they don't recognize Informatics as a "nursing" occupatation
You mean Informatics as far as working in the healthcare?
As a qualifying nursing program eligible for their funds. For the non-clinical areas, they recognize education, but not leadership. they have details on their website.
Oh ok! I see what you're saying.

I'm not sure about the credit hours, but I received FELS both years I was at my community college with 13 credit hours per semester. The funds were disbursed at the same time all other financial aid was disbursed and they mail a check for any money that you have over. I received scholarships through my college and the money from that and the FELS always showed up at the same time on my college account.
gcolon7988 Thank you! I just found out I received this loan and was worried because my first semester is only 11 credits.

Looks like you still get some money but not the full amount for 11 credits: CFNC - Paying For College. I would email them and double check though if you have any questions - I recently found out that I got FELS and they were responsive when I emailed them with questions.
Unfortunately:sniff:, I have a million credits and it turns out that I don't meet the school's eligibility according to the SAP rules. I have been at the financial aid office for two days now. I was trying my best not to rearrange the furniture in there!. I didn't want them to misinterpret my nursing passion:nurse: for anger. It really sucks that CFNC selected me but the school won't give it to me. I'm going to try not to feel defeated and just hope other scholarships come through. But yes, I would have gotten all of it because the counselor told me that for nursing students, they usually give the full amount.
