I already graduates and have been working for a year, how can a go about getting into the navy as a nurse?

are thier other boards?

i tried asking a Recruter but he is always to busy to talk.

Hello to All, I am the current Program Manager, and there is a lot of confusion on this thread so I am going to try and clear up some of it, but I also am going to be very general to encompass what I can. If you have specific questions please post them to either Chief or myself (NavyNurseCorpsPM1) and we will both do our best.

MOST IMPORTANT: NCP applications are open for 2 year groups - FY16 and FY17. Next year they will be open for FY17 and FY18 and so on through the years. We open the applications to be submitted beginning August 1 of the current year. Your application should not be started at that time, but finished. They are accepted for approximately 6 weeks and then we close the board. Results will not be out until sometime in November and it will fill FY16 and FY17 quotas for this Fiscal year only.

FY16 - A Nursing student who graduates from October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016

FY17 - A Nursing student who graduates from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017

Next year we will look for FY17 and FY18 so just move the grad years forward.

Please know that these dates can all be quite confusing, so please have faith. The recruiters all do a tremendous job, but we give them about 50 different dates and deadlines to work with.

Thank you to all of my recruiters, and to all of you applying to NCP best of luck!!

Ciao Ciao,

LT, NC, USN

I am just curious about the selection process. I was told if I was selected, I would be notified either the end of October or first week of November. I was just curious as to which time frame is more correct and has the board even happened yet. Also looking through the posts on the selection process, when you are chosen it is a pre approvement and not an official selection. Is that true? I feel like my recruiter sent me into everything blind and really didn't give me enough information past creating the packet.

Thank you in advance for any help you give!

Yes, when you are chosen you are a professionally recommended applicant, so they still need to finalize who they chose. Just a way to narrow down their choices.

I was just curious as to when the board for NCP meets and when the chosen applicants will be notified.

Thank you in advance!

Hello Mr. Diaz,

I'm currently in the process of applying to the NCP, FY 2018. I was wondering if being married and having kids will affect my chances on getting accept it to the program.

When should nursing students interested in going Active Duty but going through an ADN program first and then doing RN-BSN? I'm starting an ADN program next month and set to graduate May 2018 with an Associates. Should I wait until I've finished my ADN and have been accepted into the BSN? I ask because it only takes 25 credits to go from ADN-BSN in my area so its not a lot of time to work with. I have a prior 4 year degree if that changes anything.
