Navy NCP August or September 2011 Board

Published

Does anyone know when the board will meet again for Navy NCP selections? They began accepting new kits August 1, 2011.

I've been wondering that myself, so if you find the info elsewhere, please let us know! Is your kit complete?

Yes, I submitted it on August 1.

That was my goal, but I was held up by a waiver. I'm hoping it will be very soon....

Good Luck!

Thanks. Good luck at boards, hopefully we will both get good news over the next few months!

What graduating class are you all in? I will be taking the NCLEX next month and beginning an RN-BSN bridge in January. I have not yet submitted my packet but my recruiter tells me that I need to do it ASAP to get into the NCP graduating in 2014.

I am also wondering about other people's experiences with the physical assessment prior to applying. I am working on meeting the weight requirement; I'm not too far off now. I wish I had more time to work on it, but I'm feeling the pressure to get the packet in so I wonder how close we need to be.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I'll look forward to talking with you all.

I am graduating in May 2013. It takes about 2 - 3 months to get everything together (including interviews, MEPS, paperwork, etc...) for submission. From everything my recruiter tells me, you need to get your NCP package in soon. Since you are an experienced RN, you should have a better chance of picking up a spot. I think the Navy is looking for psyc and critical care nurses.

I think as long as you are close to height/weight specs, you will not have a problem clearing your MEPS physical. You would just need to be within specs before attending ODS.

Good luck!

Hey Tiki - I spoke with the processor when I was at MEPS and she says that it keeps changing, but she thinks the first set of boards will be around the second week of September. May not be too much longer!

Specializes in Emergency Nursing (CEN).

You have to be completely in your weight requirement at MEPS, do not even go if you are not under your weight limit, they will send you home if you are not within the limits, there is no "close" in the military...

Thanks for the info.
Specializes in Emergency.

The selection board that went into session the first week of August, wasn't just for NCP but for direct accession as well. My recruiter told me she'll call tomorrow for an update insofar as when the board will release the results. Either way, I think it'll be soon...
