NAU Traditional BSN Fall 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Recently decided to throw my hat into the ring and apply to the Tucson campus! I know we have a couple months until apps are due but I'm super excited and thought I'd see if anyone else is applying? Maybe even specifically for Tucson ? I'm scheduled to take the Kaplan on Feb 8, anyone taken it already and have any advice? Looking forward to finding other Lumberjack hopefuls!

I posted this on another thread:

Math is a lot of fractions and decimals, plus basic algebra. Reading and writing are a bit harder to pin down. I'll post a link to a review I thought was spot on! And science is pretty much all A&PII physiology. A lot of cardio, respiratory, some nervous system thrown it. It was difficult for me because the way some of the questions are worded makes them confusing.

That all being said, I got a 95 overall with 85 in science. I wish science was higher but overall, I'm fine with these scores.

I turned in my app to Joanne today! I'm super excited about this program. I feel like it would be such a good fit. And after speaking with Joanne, it seems like the MSN through Pima/GCU might not be worth it, given the career goals I have for myself. April can't come soon enough!

Is anyone here trying to apply to the Flagstaff BSN program this fall? What were your scores? I have a 3.84 GPA, got an overall score of 90 on my Kaplan and 85 on the science portion. Do you guys think I have a chance of getting into the Flagstaff program? My second option is Tuscon!

I would think your chances if being accepted are pretty good. I had a 4.0 prereq GPA, 95 overall and 85 science on the Kaplan and I was told that I had the best stats so far this application cycle (of course this was a month ago so who knows what other applicants might have had since then). Anyway, they say Tucson is more competitive than Flag or Yuma so with your stats being so similar to mine, it seems like you would likely be near the top too!

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better, but I definitely have heard different things from my advisor. I was told that Flagstaff is the very most competitive, and that Yuma and Tuscon are easier to get into because they are less competitive. Also, which campuses did you apply to? Are you only shooting for Tuscon? From what I know, you are definitely guaranteed to get in! Wish me luck, I really want to stay in Flagstaff, but if not, I might be joining you in Tuscon this fall! We should all keep each other updated ?

I'm only applying to Tucson because I have a family and can't uproot my kids and all that. I've accepted a seat in the Pima/GCU program but I am really torn because if I get into NAU, I think I would really want to go there! I am getting excited to hear back now that the application deadline has passed. Fingers crossed for all of us!

I applied to the Flagstaff campus. I have a 3.8 prereq GPA right now, but I still have a couple in progress. I got an 82 overall on the Kaplan, with math being my highest score and science my second highest at an 85. I'm pretty bummed because I bombed the writing section, which brought my overall score down significantly. Trying not to get my hopes too high, but hopefully we hear back soon.

I think your gpa and scores are still competitive. Fingers crossed! Any guesses on when we will hear back? I'm thinking next Friday ?

Did you guys check your email? “We hope to have all decisions will be made by May 1, 2019.” There was a mistake in the writing, but it’s still pretty clear. Do you think they will respond to some people sooner, or that they will tell everyone on the same day?

May 1st is the last day to accept admissions offer and pay the deposit. I would hope that emails are out before then to give people time to make some decisions. I know out of state transfers are delaying the process, as I am one myself haha. I was told April 12th is the deadline to have all credits evaluated, approved and submitted. I submitted my credit report yesterday, and was told a decision was made and I should hear back in 2-3 weeks.

I didn't get an email. Where did you find yours, in your personal email?
