Recently decided to throw my hat into the ring and apply to the Tucson campus! I know we have a couple months until apps are due but I'm super excited and thought I'd see if anyone else is applying? Maybe even specifically for Tucson ? I'm scheduled to take the Kaplan on Feb 8, anyone taken it already and have any advice? Looking forward to finding other Lumberjack hopefuls!

Hi there! I also took my Kaplan on Feb 8th and I turned my application in today. I am so nervous. The science portion of that test was awful. I got a 65, Joanne even said that if I don’t get in it will be because of that. I am trying not to get my hopes up. How did you do on it? Is this your first time applying? Do you already live in Tucson?
I'm taking the Kaplan tomorrow... now I'm so nervous! I hope I can at least get a science score in the 80s but I have admittedly not been studying enough! I will update after my exam!
Yes, I already live in Tucson. I'm applying to several programs here because I REALLY have to get into at least one of them this application cycle! What about you?
Good luck on your test! I hope you do awesome! I also applies to Pima. I really want to get in this semester too!! Let me know how your test goes!!
Well I'm satisfied with my scores... 95 overall and 85 on science. I wish science was at least 90, but I'm not gonna beat myself up about it! The science section was so weird. Like some of the questions were super easy and some were like WHAT are they even talking about?! ?
Wow that is amazing!! Great job!! Yes I felt that same way. Some of them I felt like you could have two right answers but it depended on what they meant. Like the one that asks about sensory system “as you age” does age mean elderly or does it mean from birth into adulthood?? I was so frustrated because I was the top of my A&P classes and I really understand all of it but their questions weren’t clear.
Also I am curious how many people were there testing with you? When I tested on the 5th there was only 4 and 2 had tested earlier that day so only 6 total
I think there were 7. I think they are limited by the number of computers. And yeah, that question totally got me too! I'm the same as you... top of my A&P classes but those weird questions ? Glad we got through it! Now I need to turn in my app. I emailed Joanne for an appt. Silly question... did you type out your app?
No I didn’t. I just filled it in. Well I think you will most definitely get in! At this point I am hoping I can at least get into Pima!
Good luck on both schools! Pima decisions arent too far away so at least that one isnt as long a wait as NAU.

Hi guys! I take my Kaplan for the second time on the 23rd and was wondering if you could offer any friendly advice on the science section. I'm super nervous because last time I got a 60... really hoping to get in this time around, just not sure what to study ahh!
I don’t think I am much help. I only got a 65. The questions were so frustrating trying to figure out what they were asking. Some were super easy and others made no sense or had multiple correct answers depending on how you interpret the question. I am still not even sure what ones I missed. I would just say to know your basics on all the systems. Sorry I am not much help. Good Luck
