NAU Traditional BSN Fall 2010

Published

Anyone else wrapping up their applications for this? All I have left is HESI and BIO 205 Final on Friday (Rio). Bio's got me praying, a A and I'll have a GPA of 3.75, B and I have a 3.65. I know they said they get an avg of 120+ applicants but does anyone know if thats just for NAU main or for Flag, Tucson, and Yuma?

Hmmm...your with NAU? If your in the accel program then you won't be here that long a few weeks. Your clinicals rotate all over Arizona. Yuma in my opinion is boring, but you will have plenty to keep you going with studying.

Hi,

here's another fall '10 applicant undergoing mental torture!

I've got a 3.65 prereq gpa, 88% hesi cumulative score, with BIO202 and ECE107 in progress at Pima CC.

Don't know if it'll help any, but am EMT licensed, army medic veteran, and have hundreds of hospital volunteer hours accumulated.

I talked to a nursing advisor who told me they're making their decisions this week, and we should know by mail next week.

Best of luck to everyone!!

When I asked they said being a veteran didn't really help, but I would imagine being medic veteran would help as long as you listed it under experience. Good luck, guess it's gonna be a stressful 7 days lol. .....crap.

I may be moving so I'm not on edge anymore especially since I did not make the cut for the accelerated program. BUT If I do get in, it will definitely change things. It would be really hard to go through all this and make one of the 10 slots then just give it up. The state that I am moving to has an accelerated program and it will be less time, but I have to take organic chemistry which I loathe!!!!:crying2: I agree your medic experience would make you more qualified than a person without, they do count highly on the 2 Anat & Phys grades and the HESI though. I had a year of hospital clinicals, but he said that that did not help in the accelerated anyway. They like the GPA, 2 AP grades and the HESI as indicators of how successful you will be in the program. No worries you will most likely get in......but keep me posted because if you get letters and I don't I will be left in the dark because they don't notify people at all if they do not get in.

Hey D if you don't want your spot i'll take it.:yeah:

I put down for Tucson 1st, then Flag. Say... is it just coincidence, or is that a Thai flag?

Is that for the Trad program that they said they will be notifying people next week? And do they notify different locations at different times, or will it be all at once?

not really sure, they may wait until both tucson and flag have made their decisions and send them out at the same time. Guess we'll know this time next week.

Hello EVERYONE!!! I'm joining a little late in the game. I'm like everyone else who is waiting for that letter in the mail. When I see the postal truck I don't know if I should laugh or cry!!:uhoh3: I wish they would just get it over with. I'm shooting for YUMA and YUMA only b/c at this time I CANNOT move anywhere else. I would like to know who else on here is planning on staying in yuma....I keep trying to find someone on the AWC campus that is applying to the NAU-Yuma program but I can't seem to find anyone. AND I can't seem to get any of my questions answered. Is there any other way to get in touch with ppl that have applied for the program and are staying in yuma (other than this site)?????? I feel like I'm going through this alone with all the AWC nursing program ppl have each other to talk to.

Sounds like everyone can relax a little. Heard they're going in the mail tomorrow. ;)

Hi All,

I'm a first semester BSN student at NAU Tucson so good luck to all of you applying. Don't worry if you get waitlisted. From what I've heard of my fellow students, they went well into the waitlist (6'th or more here in Tucson) to fill all the slots. I also want to note that while it's true there's travel for clinicals in Flag and Yuma (I think), there's no travel here in Tucson since we have plenty of hospitals locally.
