NAU ABSN 2019

Published

Hey everyone. I thought I'd see if anyone else on here is applying to NAU's Accelerated BSN program this application cycle. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who is!

I applied!! My prereq gpa isn’t amazing, it’s a 3.59. The micro class I took was a 400 level class so I only got a B in it. I also got another B and two A- ?. But I did get a 92 overall on the Kaplan and a 95 on the science section so maybe that might help overshadow the gpa.

If the rest of the applicants look like you all then my chances aren’t so great ?. Guess I’ll start using this time to work on plan B.

I would be inclined to say that you are looking pretty competitive! based on your stats, you should at MINIMUM be offered an alternate spot. That kaplan will be your ultimate weapon since it is pretty unreal!

Check out my new post about the guidelines they use to pick applicants.

Ahhh I wonder when we are going to hear! Two years ago letters were emailed out on 02/08, but last year it was near the 02/20. It could be any day!

Right there with you ?. Kinda goes both ways since being accepted is the goal, but knowing it's like a 2.5 month turn around to get finances in order and plan a move to another state is nerve racking.

Emails are in I think. Good luck to everyone. Looking forward to meeting you guys.

I am in! I'm so happy they didn't keep us waiting ? I can't wait to meet everyone else!

I made it!! Exciting!!!

I got in as well! I'm so excited for this program.

Does anyone have a clear answer on tuition costs for the program, specifically for WUE tuition? The website is a bit cryptic for the cost beyond 12 credits (I can't imagine it stays the same when tacking on 5-6 more credits per semester). And the nursing office wasn't sure on the costs when I called.

The closest I can figure for the whole program is just under $30K, but I want to make sure I'm not way off.

Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Ill be making a call to financial aid on monday to ask about tuition for WUE and make sure that there isnt any documents needed to ensure that WUE is applied to our accounts. (even though we are elgible, im not sure fafsa satisfies the documentation needed to apply that program)

I will also see about federal loan limits and how summer is calculated into the equation since it should be considered 2018-19 and not 2019-20. Going to ask about the real $$ amount needed to not have a job and a place to live without an income.

I'm curious about a lot of the costs ?. I've worked since I was 16 and this will be the first time I will not have a job, so not having health insurance through an employer will be expensive. I wonder if we can enroll for the required supplemental insurance through the school purchasable insurance plans.

Sounds good! Let us know what you hear.

I think the real amount is all relative to how frugally you can live.

Hi everyone! I’m also a current student in this program. Happy to answer any questions y’all have. As for how WUE works, I do have an answer for how it worked this year. Although I’m an in state student, from a classmate who is a WUE student - NAU does not apply WUE tuition to professional programs. This classmate paid full out of state tuition both fall and spring semesters, but in state tuition for summer because apparently there is not any out of state student difference. I hope this helps!! Congratulations!
