National University, SD October 2015 Cohort 44

Published

Anyone applying for the ABSN in National University in San Diego for the October cohort. I just took my TEAS and did not do very well. I trying to find out if I am able to retake the TEAS to better my score and submit that before the start date in October.

Anyone out there applying for the same program know, or anyone that's been through it have any information on how it works? I've e-mail the nursing department but it seems really hard to get feedback at a descent amount of time.

Thank You!

Oh my goodness, I am soooo nervous, I haven't been able to sleep since Friday due to the email. I did see my status change from "submitted" to "final review" and really hope its good news! Good luck to us all!

By any chance is this anyones second time applying to National? I'd like to know how the process works and any advice you can give just incase. How do alternates work?

I was an alternate for my cohort at NU and it was my second time applying. The only difference between applying the first time and the second time is you can keep your TEAS score that you got the first time. I chose to retake the TEAS because I had gotten sick right before the test the first time and didn't do as well as I wanted. I also know of people who did worse the second time and chose to keep their first score.

As far as being an alternate, you will receive an email stating that you are an alternate. The email will also have info about orientation which is still mandatory if you're an alternate. The email will also have info on getting your physical and blood work done. The email also states that you won't find out if you're in the program until orientation but I got a call the day before orientation.

Good luck!

I am so nervous too. Mine didn't change to final review. Ugh. Of course in trying to read into it and figure out if that's good or bad.

Thank you for the response. By any chance would you know when they would tell you if you didn't make it as an alternate and if that guarantees you a spot for next cohort? Thank you I'm really hoping and praying I make it!

Stay positive!! Maybe they didn't get a chance to update everyones status; I wouldn't read into it too much. Plus, you have a really good GPA! Good luck!

Has anyone checked their SOAR portal to see if by any chance the status has changed from "final review" to accepted/denied? I was reading a few old posts from 2011 with a similar situation like this one with an email letting us know we'll find out soon but some people checked their SOAR Portal and already had acceptance or denial letters. I checked mine... but it still says "final review".

My status hasn't changed. When I logged into soar I saw a red message and got excited but it was just about soar being offline. Lol! It's going to be a long day. I hope we actually find out today. I did see another cohort who was given a date and then it was still another week. We'll see. If I don't get in I will probably apply to SDSU and CSUSM. I just don't want to wait another year to start.

Mine still says "submitted"...

Mine still says "submitted" as well. Perhaps they review alphabetically?

Don't lose hope ladies! My status changed last week maybe because I'm applying for the accelerated cohort 44 & my last name is at the top of the alphabet. I doubt they sent out any letters yet after **'s email last Friday, it doesn't seem like the list was quite finalized.

Who else has logged into the soar portal 50 times today? Lol.
