Hello everyone!
This is my first post on this forum so I'm not too familiar with how all this works but hopefully I'll be able to figure it out along the way.
Anyways,
I applied to the July application time for COHORT 45 in SD Nursing Program.
I wanted to know if anyone else has applied to this month.
If you don't mind, could you also share what your GPA and TEAS score as well?
I'm super, duper nervous.
My GPA is just mediocre at 3.55. I feel like this is probably a lot lower than the average that will be applying in July.
I also have yet to take the TEAS yet but I feel like I'm just not prepared.
Any suggestions on how to study for the TEAS besides the ATI V.5 study manual for TEAS? I feel like this in itself is not enough to prepare me for the test.
If you are already part of the nursing program or know the information, could you also tell me about when the assigned test date would be after the application deadline date?
Also, any suggestions and or tips on writing the essay?
Thank you guys so much in advance!
Much responses and advice will be appreciated and are definitely needed.
Thank you so much for calling :) It has been a challenge for sure, as we get different information from different school reps (depending on who we get on the phone or email responses)... I wonder if they got more applicants than they thought for this cohort? Between 17 units this semester and waiting for NU's notification... I don't know how much more heartburn I can take! LOL
Getting impatient. Currently taking my SPN340A, and SPN341 classes online. Hopefully we all find out soon. My friend who got into Cohort 44 told me he heard Cohort 45 had a lot less applicants than normal; ~150 compared to the normal 250 if I remember what he said correctly, but I don't know how accurate that statement is. He started the program in October. Good luck to everyone, and try to stay sane these last few weeks until we hopefully find out! Grateful I have no course to take in December to prepare for the suck If I get in. Former US Navy FMF Corpsman here.
I've actually been pretty curious about the Spanish requirements. I meant to ask my advisor; I just haven't gotten around to it. I have Spanish I and Spanish II under my belt... I wonder if this would suffice? For many other places I know they require 3 semesters worth (to include Spanish III). Anyone know?
You took spanish in college? I took three yrs of spanish in high school and both community and ucsd counted for it... but when I asked several advisors and what not at NU, they said I had to have taken spanish for a bachelors degree for it to count for NU requrement... that's the only reason why im taking the classes. You might want to make sure with your advisor though..
Yes, both Spanish classes were 5 unit college classes. I hope I don't need Spanish III, as I most certainly will have forgotten much of the Spanish grammar rules I had learned. I have a strong desire to know the language... sadly, it didn't "stick" real well; perhaps because of lack of use. I may go ahead and email my advisor to see what the scoop is. Thank you!!!!
I agree... SPN 340A isn't that bad.. Hopefully the second class is as easy. I don't know if I'm going to be able to have Spanish stick with me while I'm working since it was such a short class to get all the information really stuck in your mind.
Me too... I just want to receive the result and be over with it already.
Apparently, the professors that are grading our essays have not turned it in on time.. which is why it's taking so long.

I just sent an email to the nursing department to see if I can get us a time frame. My advisor didn't know anything. Humph
