Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. :banghead: Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.

Thanks

Hi!

I just took the TEAS at National and it was version 4.0. Hope that helps. I heard the study guide is great. I have a friend who used it and she got a 92%! Good luck with everythinh

Thanks ExPharmaGirl,

I will call them an monday. I am super confused as to how I didn't get in. I personally know someone who starts in april that scored a 70% on her TEAS. And afriend with almost identical grades that starts in July. Between my sciences/labs and stats I had 1 A, 1A-, and 5B+'s. All attempted just once. My TEAS was 82%. Even if i bombed the essay, with it being 20% I didn't think it would keep me out. I have seen posts from people with similar grades that were accepted. I'm soooo bummed. I have been a medical assistant in OB/GYN for 11 years, have 3 kids and have been working my butt off! Not being accepted was not in my plans:)

Thanks for listening to me whine!

kamsmom30 - Don't let it get you down. My advice to you is to reapply! I have a friend who is 2 cohorts behind me who was denied her first time but accepted the second time around. Good luck to you!

Prettyinpink57-Thanks for your encouragement! I'm not going to give up. I have a good feeling about being accepted to the next cohort! Best wishes to you in the completion of the program:)

Hello everyone! To those who are towards the end of the program - Do you have clinicals for community health or any of the remaining classes after leadership? I'm starting psych in a couple weeks and can't believe how close I'm getting it's insane!

YAY!!! I am so happy for you prettyinpink! You are doing great! Wish I could answer your question though.... XD

Specializes in NICU.

I'm in community health right now we do not have clinicals in the normal sense. We have a certain amount of hours that we have to complete that make up our clinical component. These hours are fulfilled by a 3-month long group project with teachings out in the community. There are also papers and community meetings and observations that satisfy the rest of the hours. In addition there are class discussions, posts and quizzes that are due weekly. I've spent so much time researching and writing throughout this class that I am sick of it! (so I come here and write instead :p)

Prettyinpink,

There are no clinicals during community health. But there are alot of projects both individual and group. You do have to come with a community teaching that you have to teach somehow. hope that helps.

Thanks ladies!!

I just got the letter from NU that I didn't get into the July cohort but am on the "alternate" list. So, if an accepted student doesn't show up for the mandatory orientation, I may be allowed to go into the July cohort. Otherwise, I'll be able to apply to the October cohort. Ugh. I really hoped to get into July. Wish me luck that I'll still be able to. Planning to apply to other programs just to get on the lists-so need to research their criteria and deadlines. If there is an advice on what to do now, I'd love to hear from you. Not quite sure what I should be doing right now.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. I'll cross my fingers for you. Do you mind sharing your stats so we can get a better idea of what the cut-off was?

As far as looking toward the future, I've been looking at the CA approved programs list and compiling lists of the pre-req's I still need for any of the schools I'd be willing to commute to so I can shotgun my application to as many programs as possible. I'd suggest finding programs that use a point system and looking for ways to boost your application points while you wait to get into National's program...who knows you might get into a much less expensive program and sooner!

I have a 3.4 GPA (all A's and B's) with an 86 TEAS score. I don't know the score for the essay.
