Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.
Thanks
hey hey! malpractice insurance for $20 a year!! Which one is that, if you don't mind? I read about the NSO or the HPSO coverage and it is about $25/year. I know its a few bucks, but penny:twocents: these days are needed, especially if going to nursing school!!
yeah got malpractice insurance for the same price i couldn't believe it! i ordered my background check on monday and got the chain of command letter today in the mail from national so i'm going to make the appointment for my urine screen tomorrow. have you done yours yet? any idea how long it takes? i want to make sure i have EVERYTHING done for orientation!!is it february 13th yet??? LOL:chuckle
"Chain of command"?.. You're too cute... :) I think it's called "Chain of Custody"... I actually ordered my background check a couple of hours ago. It cost me $75 total ($65 basic price + $10 for having a maiden name)... Oh, well. I will wait for my letter now...
Hey guys,
It turns out that I have no immunity to Hep B (neg. titer) and will have to do the series. Even if I start tomorrow, the series won't be finished until May-June 2009. Do any of you know if they will let me be in school and in clinicals as long as I am working on completing the series? Or do they ALL have to be done BEFORE I can start?
Also, I know there's an "accelerated" version of this vaccine - does National accept it, instead of the series? Sorry, I know it's too many questions...
I'm just stressed and scared that I will have to postpone school because of this... God, I hope not!
hello all,
congratulations to all of you who are starting at National University. As I read your posts, it reminds me of how I felt 2 years ago. Now that I am nearing the end of the nursing program(Graduating in May, cohort 11), I would just like to offer you guys a little advice. The nursing program is fast, stressful, and crazy at times. It is also very fun and rewarding. You are going to love and hate some teachers. The teachers you hate will be the ones that teach you the most. The classes are tough, the clinicals can be even tougher. During clinicals, learn and see as much as you can. Seek out the sickest patients, they will teach you the most. Have fun and enjoy each learning experience.
Good luck all!!!
Gnomik 79,I believe just as long as you start the HEP B series they allow you to start school and clinicals.
Yes! Thank God that's the case! I found this out this morning when I spoke to the Nursing advisor. Then I went and got my hep B done right away! :) with the flu shot... So, I am relieved now.. :thankya:
YAY DIANA! I'm glad that will work out with the Hep B series!!! When I had my physical earlier this month I had to get a tetorifice shot, flu shot, TB/PPD test and lots of blood drawn it was not fun! And yeah I re-read what I wrote earlier and definitely meant chain of custody haha! I am a dork sometimes! I made my drug screen appointment for tuesday. Oh and yes, this all has to be done by orientation. Crazy huh?!?! Well I'm off to work tonight, talk to you soon!
:typing
and h0n3ybee, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your advice!
Hey Ashley! :) I was gonna ask, since you did the physical already... what exactly did they do there, I mean the physical exam itself? Is it like checking your eyes, ears and stuff, or a little more invasive? Either way, it dsnt matter, I just want to mentally prepare for a very long visit, if necessary... What do they draw blood for?
