Has anyone had any luck with applying at National University for their nursing program? I applied back in Oct 06 and have been waiting to hear from them. They are supposed to notify in 3 months. I have called and called and written email upon emails with no response really. :banghead: Please, if anyone has applied and received some sort of letter, I would greatly appreciate your reply.

Thanks

Does anyone know if its possible to get paid work in the hospital while attending nursing school? I have heard that its possible after med/surg. Is that true? Thanks!

I know you can work as a unit assistant or sometimes Kaiser has student nurse positions.

Are these jobs easy to come by? I, unfortunately don't have any certifications to allow me to work in the hospital. I am currently working full time in retail, but will be out of a job soon, as they are unwilling to offer me part time employment, nor will they work with my school schedule. So I am certainly looking for some type of gainful employment, preferably in a clinical setting. Is anyone else in a similar situation?

At National, you can apply as a student extern after med/surg 2 class. Since National University does not have an externship class you must sign up for the externship class offered by Southwestern College(only community college that accepts National students).Usually hospitals offer externships in the summer and in January. some hospitals allow you to be a UA/ TPafter med/surg 2.

Just curious-

Is there anyone in this thread that is going to orientation this Friday the 14th?

Anyone here take A&P from National and have fullerton as their professor?

Thanks!

I had fullerton 2 1/2 years ago for A&P I (received an A both in lecture and Lab). I remember the class had a lot of memorizing especially the lab final. It is a difficult class but having gone through the nursing program at National(Graduating in May 2009), A&P I is fairly easy compared to the nursing classes.

Sent you a PM.

Jason, i don't know how to send a pm but, fullerton lab final was a lot harder than lecture final. lots of parts and naming dissection and parts. In order to study I brought a camera to each lab and took pictures of slides, dissections and plastic models. you also have to know specific functions of organs.
