National University San Diego Cohort 66

Published

Hello Pre-Nursing Students! I thought I'd start a new thread since the application deadline for Cohort 66 is only few months away.

I plan on applying for November 2020 deadline. I recently transferred from a community college and will be taking BST 322 and ILR 260 with NU. I will also be taking the TEAS by October. Please feel free to share your stats: GPA, TEAS, work experience, second degree (if any).

NU and Azusa. One negative moment about Azusa is a lot of prerequisites, including organic Chemistry, biochemistry, and statistics. If I'm not accepting into NU, I agree to go to another state.

Yes! They have so many! I am applying to NU and I applied for CSUSM, but I’m not sure if some of my classes will transfer over for prereqs. That applicant is due tonight!

I plan on applying to nursing schools that are not point system (like National U) because of the B's I got in all my science classes. I've noticed a huge gap between A and B. So, I don't think I'll have a chance at those schools. And some schools give extra points to those with CNA or similar work experience.

But I will look into CSUSM. thank you!

A friend just told me about the Accelerated BSN at Brandman University. Never heard of it and upon researching, I found out their first cohort just started this Summer. Might be worth inquiring into?

Hello future nurses,

I'm taking my last prerequisite, Microbiology, now. So far, my GPA is 4, but I'm concerned about the TEAS score. English is my second language, and I think a reading comprehension part will be my deal-breaker. I will take a test in November.

I think if you've managed to get A's in all your classes, there's nothing you should be concerned about. English is my second language as well and I have the TEAS scheduled for last week of October. Reading and Science have the most number of questions on TEAS, so make sure you don't ignore those areas. I actually have those as my priorities. Good luck!

I have no idea if this university has an ABSN program in San Diego. But please, don't go to Glendale Career College. It's scam. They want 75K for ADN and will be happy to kick you out of school after the first year.

Yes first time applying! I had to retake micro lecture and A&P 1 lecture to raise my GPA. I took the TEAS in July and didn’t score nearly where I need to be in order to be competitive. I’ve been working on bringing up my scores to be competitive for years now! Hopefully I can find people to help me study for the TEAS here in San Diego!

Hey! I’m also applying to November cohort & plan on taking the TEAS end Of oct or Beginning of nov! I need all the studying I can get too!! I’m in SD. We can add each other on social media so we can see if we can do a study group. I have a coworker who’s an RT that’s also applying with me.

I suggest going on ATI website and start registering for dates.. like now if you have not. The dates for end of October are getting booked/sold out. I registered to take the ATI proctored exam on Oct 28 a few weeks ago.

I registered for TEAS on Oct 29th! I haven’t started studying yet because I’ve been busy with my last prerequisite. If any of you are down, I would be willing to drive to San Diego once a week until the end of Oct. (I’m in Temecula). It would give me a reason to make time to study. I’m getting a Covid test tomorrow just because. I have no symptoms, but I work out every morning around other people so I just want to be safe. I have been taking practice test without studying and have been getting 50% ?. Not feeling confident at all. I really need to sit down and open my ATI secrets book.

A girl I took A&P with had me add some ATI study groups on FB. Still haven’t had time to check it out ?.

@2girls1cupnoodle I’ll take mine on oct 28 and I just started studying a couple days ago. I’m currently reviewing A&P and only giving myself 1.5 weeks to study science. Then 1 week each for math, and reading and English usage.

I’m hoping to at least finish studying A&P by next week. So, let me know if you guys decide to meet up. I might be able to join in depending on my work schedule.

Hi! Good morning. When I sign on to register for TEAS only remote proctoring for nursing students, there are plenty of spots open starting as early as 10/5 & all the way. Did you sign up for TEAS, TEAS PSI, or TEAS ATI?

OOO I'm down to study for the TEAS as well. I'm also SD based. Were you guys planning like a Discord style study group or in-person w/masks type of thing?

Have any of you bought the practice tests from the ATI website? Looks like their "online practice assessment package" that include the both practice exams are on sale for $80 & an additional 20% off on top of that! (I like to save money ? I've heard they're very helpful.

@Jax143 I think there’s only few spots left for the last week of October. But I registered for the TEAS ATI.
I bought the book from ATI but not the package. they’re a little expensive for me. Let us know if it’s worth it.
