National University LVN-to-BSN 2019 Cohort 11

U.S.A. California

Hi! My name is Janice and I applied for the LVN to BSN program at National University in August and just got my test date for the TEAS and essay. I wanted to start a thread so we can all talk and bounce ideas off each other. My test date is September 17th and I'm super nervous! I've got two study guides for the TEAS and I'm starting to study now.....ugggggh. (should have started sooner!) I also contacted the writing department last week and will do a few practice essays to prepare. Please comment if you have applied....let's chat!

Awesome. How did you hear there was 45 applicant interviews? What did you do for GPA and TEAS if you do not mind my asking?

My counselor told me they extended the application deadline because there weren't enough applicants. Hopefully this is a good thing for all of us, meaning all of us have a better chance of getting in, since it's not so competitive this year? ?

Definitely!! Good luck to you both!!!

I spoke to my advisor a couple hours ago. She didn't mention an extended deadline but did mention 100+ applicants. My GPA is a 4.0 and my TEAS was 80%.

The original application was due the 20th of September but they gave an extention to the 4th. Per my advisor they extended due to not that many applicants and allowing more time for people to turn in TEAS as they do not offer the exam on site. I am hoping that it is not as competitve this time around as they just reopened this cohort this year.

I just got an email that I made it to the interview as well! yay! I'm so relieved.

I got an 81 on my TEAS, that is why I was a bit worried I would get denied.

What is your GPA? If you do not mind my asking? I just rechecked and mine was 3.45.

My GPA is a 3.6, but they only base your admission on your sciences and the Bio stat class. I have all A's in those classes.

Have you been an LVN for a long time?

Wow 4.0 thats awesome. I am nervous that is what is going to be my downfall once all points are tallied. I have been an LVN for about 9 years. I currently work at Sharp. But have been a charge nurse, home health nurse, and did registry for a little while. How about yourself?

Thank you. I knew the program was competitive so I worked my *** off to get A's. I've been an LVN for almost 20 years. It's definitely time to advance in nursing. I quit my full time job to focus on school but wrk per diem at the job I've been with for over 15 yrs. My experience is mainly in child/adolescent psychiatry.

I wish they would add additional points for years of experience lol.

Going on 20 years... I loved my job and got to comfortable lol

I've been an LVN 11 years. Worked home health, snifs, sheriff's department, and clinics in a few specialties. I'm currently at Kaiser.

Awesome.. sucks we have to wait for a another month for the final results... My anxiety is getting the best of me. Lol
