Hi! My name is Janice and I applied for the LVN to BSN program at National University in August and just got my test date for the TEAS and essay. I wanted to start a thread so we can all talk and bounce ideas off each other. My test date is September 17th and I'm super nervous! I've got two study guides for the TEAS and I'm starting to study now.....ugggggh. (should have started sooner!) I also contacted the writing department last week and will do a few practice essays to prepare. Please comment if you have applied....let's chat!

Took my TEAS today, got a 90.7 and did my proctored essay. Now it's just waiting time!! I wish there were others on here going for this cohort.

Hi Janice,

I applied for the program too. Took my TEAS and the proctored essay last 09/18. I think we have to wait till the end of October to see if we will get in. Thank you for starting this thread.

Yes, they said 4 to 6 weeks. How'd your essay go? Have you applied before or anywhere else? This is my first time. I hope I get in.

Hello,

I took the exam and did not do well as I thought I would have. I found out about the test while I was on vacation so I could not fully study. Does anyone know the ranges they have been accepting students? *crossing fingers I get in*

At the nursing forum they gave out the cutoffs for last years LVN to BSN cohort but I can't remember. I know the post Bachelor BSN program had a cutoff of 86 or 87. If I can find my notes, I will post. Did you take your test on the 17th? How did your essay go?

I took mine on the 18th. Yeah the proctor said mid 80s but sometimes there are some lower scores that make it. Just depends on the amount of people, GPA, essay, etc. The essay was ok. I just wrote what I could, followed the standard format. I do not know if it is a strong essay, but I liked it. Haha. My group of people taking the test was small. I wished I knew how many applied. First time applying and I drove from L.A. and then headed back to work that night.

On the 17th the group was pretty small as well, maybe 25. Gosh LA....that must have been a long day.

I am not sure about the essay, but I did follow the requirements like they want 5 paragraphs and all that. This is also my first time.

I took mine too on the 18th. The group was pretty small, but I remember during the orientation they said that they divide the applicants in 5 groups. TEAS and the proctored essay are scheduled for the entire week. From my notes, they said that last year's average for TEAS was 76. Overall average (TEAS + GPA + essay) was 82, and cutoff was 80.

Thank you for letting me know. I just hope I get in, I'm taking way too long of a time to get my BSN. I am hoping they notify us soon because I am getting stir crazy

Do you guys know when are we going to find out the result?
