Hi everyone!

I applied to the 2024 cohort. Starting the thread early and eagerly awaiting to hear back about an interview. Anyone else apply?!

I'm only saying we're not the only cohort that they're dealing with. They have two other cohorts that they're dealing with. I'm just trying to be mindful and respectful of them and their time. I don't think anybody would forget us once we have a seat. Also, I'm 100% positive we're expected to show a great level of maturity entering this profession and it starts with respect.

You're totally right. Yeah I'm not gonna email or call or anything. Especially since no one else has gotten an official email. My guess is they're probably waiting until the end of interviews (which isn't until 5pm today) to compile their list of on-the-spot acceptances. Then they'll probably send out emails later this week or into next week. Rather than doing it piece meal during the interview days. Would make more sense from a workflow perspective

Absolutely. We all have to remain calm and give them plenty of time. Two weeks is not a long time. We still have three months until we start the program.

15 minute interview. If you didn't get acceptance on the spot, did you get told a timeline of when you'll hear back?

I talked to ---------------------- and she said you should be recieving the Email by the end of the week.  She told me to contact her Monday if it isn't recieved.  She says that we need to sign up for a complaince tracker, becuase there are some things we need to do before the start of the program.

Hi guys. I just was offered on the spot as well. I was told in 7 days I would have an official notice. Class begins January 8th. I am already a current FNP student with NU so it might be a little different for me. I will keep you guys updated if I hear anything.

I am going to join the FB group shortly.

Hi Guys,

I wasn't offered a spot during the interview. I was immediately asked clinical questions. I answered to the best of my ability but did not feel confident.

I want to know if anyone else had this experience as well? I am reading all the rest of you were asked personality questions. I don't feel like I had a chance to say my piece per se, or make a good impression.

I wish all of you who were offered a spot the best of luck! I know all we can do is try hard and work hard.

What was your clinical experience? I've noted that dependent on an individuals experiences (more unique backgrounds), the questions tend to be more personality based rather than clinical. I also know it can depend on your resume. If you have a resume that states you specifically have experience in certain drug management or specific treatments, they'll pimp you on it to see if you really know it. I was not asked any clinical questions

Neuroscience ICU, its my only critical care experience. I was asked about mechanism of action of Mannitol as well as Precedex.I gave my best answers but was not confident in my answer for precedex, I didn't specifically say how it works on alpha 2 receptor.

why would you complete NP Program just to go to CRNA? seems like an expensive and lengthy route for when you could have just applied to CRNA.

Ya, and they picked those two drugs because those are common in Neuro ICU. The best thing you can do is say you aren't too sure, that youll get back to them about it and send them an email thanking them for the interview, and the answer. "Hi thank you, I appreciate .... blah blah, also I looked into the MOA of Precedex and found its an alpha 2 agonist, blah blah"

Ya honestly little curious about this too, seems like a very lengthy way to go. If you already have the DNP, why not tack on the DNP in Nurse Anesthesia rather than the 3 additional years of a DNAP which doesn't count any of your DNP courses...
