Hey Y’all!
I had to push back my application date to this cohort! I have yet to take my TEAS test, but my GPA is a 3.3 currently. Glad to “meet you all”

I did retake A&P 2 and got As as well as A&P 1 lab. I might retake A&P 1 lecture to bring my GPA up to a 3.6 while I’m waiting to apply.

@Jessica Werner

A few people have mentioned retaking classes. That may help, but I would suggest not letting it hold you back. Maybe look into some back up schoosl while you're at it. West Coast University and (online) may be good options instead of waiting months to re-apply. Time = money.

Is western governors accredited? West coast is just too far for me, I attended an orientation a couple years back.

Yes it is according to the CA government it has a CCNE accreditation. You can find them all here: https://RN.ca.gov/education/attrition.shtml

I live in South County in Chula Vista, I know kinda far from the school but it’s okay!

What is everyone’s science GPA going into the program? It might be too early for the TEAS score but if you’ve already taken it, would you mind sharing your TEAS results? Thanks!

I have a 3.3 GPA. I’m hoping to get a high TEAS to bring me up to a competitive point score

I have a 3.5 GPA and still studying for my TEAS

Hi all,
Not sure if this is an appropriate place to ask but I was wondering if anyone knows the enrollment process at NU. Do advisors typically choose the class/professor for students or can students have the option to decide? I transferred from CC so I’m not too familiar with how things are run at NU.

You can decide. However for sciences there is usually only one professor per campus for that term in my experience.

Do you happen to know if there’s a class catalog to see who’s teaching the classes? My advisor just enrolled me in a Bio Stats class and I wanted to see if I have an option to choose my professor.

Edit: Never mind, I figured it out.

Hi there,

I'm in cohort 63. When you get into the program they make the schedule. And fill it with the professor that can do it for that time. We haven't had a choice in our professors.

Sorry my question was kinda vague. I was referring to prereq classes/professors but that’s also interesting to know. Since you’re taking the nursing core classes, do they have your schedule filled and planned out until graduation?

Hey! It’s the same thing for prerequisites. Classes start every month usually only 1 professor for that one month term., if you want a different teacher consider waiting for the next month class for that to start.
