National University Cohort 67 San Diego

Published

Hello Pre-Nursing Students!

Despite Cohort 67 being quite a bit away, I figure I start up a thread early for those of us that are eager.

I plan on applying for the May 2021 deadline. I just knocked out BST 322 and am taking ILR 260 with NU this next coming month!

I just took the TEAS and came out with a 85.3!

Please feel free to share your stats: GPA, TEAS, work experience, second degree (if any).

For those of us who already made it through and ended up on this thread, any insight would be awesome on what to expect!

I am only taking lecture.

For NU, the lecture portion is 4.5 units and the lab is 1.5 units I believe

For those that are reapplying next cohort, I'll throw out there that if you can:

get recommendation letters together from professional sources such as supervisors or other coworkers. I had Navy officials that I worked with attest to me and sent two rec letters, along with a pretty bomb resume I took forever to tweak. I had never applied before and I was so nervous so I went overboard, I also retook two classes through straighterline as well. I had a prior 3.2 GPA in early May and was discouraged so I pushed through and retook 2 online lectures and came out with a 3.667!

My stats were GPA: 3.6 and TEAS 90

I hope to see you all right behind us in the next cohort ♥️ Best luck and wishes, and DO go overboard adding to your package if you can. It will help you stand out/look diverse.

Did you send the recommendation letters and resume to them prior to your interview? Or did they ask for them?

I had 3.5 and 94.7 TEAS, attached 2 letters of recommendations, got an interview, and still got rejected.

I was speaking to national university today, and they said biomedical statistics is considered a semester units, not a quarter units.

Have you guys heard anything about that?

Hi all-

I have been silently following this forum for a while now but thought I would finally jump in and comment and introduce myself.  My name is Aspen and I was also recently accepted into the program at National and will be joining you all for cohort 67. YAY!

My stats were: 3.67 GPA and 90% TEAS

I have 1 year of CNA/ med-aide experience in dementia care.

For those who were asking about letters of rec- I never included any and I honestly thought I wouldn't get in with only 1 year of experience but I am here to say don't get discouraged if it seems like you don't have tons of experience or letters of rec. I spent a LOT of time on my resume for sure and I think my interview went very well, but I know how intimidating it can seem when everyone else has TONS of experience. I am not sure if they prefer a higher GPA vs TEAS or vice versa... still cannot seem to figure it out myself.

Anyways good luck to everyone re-applying. You will get there one day! I was rejected 4 times before this from previous schools and I know how it feels to feel outright frustrated and let down. Do NOT let it discourage you from trying again or trying elsewhere. There is a place for everyone somewhere... just keep pushing!

To all my fellow classmates in 67- I cannot wait to see and meet you guys soon! ?

Hello guys,

I have a question, for biomedical statics, how are the units calculated? Semester or quarter ?

NU does quarter units

They told me that biomedical statistics is counted as a semester units because I transferred the other 3 classes from a community College.

I transferred all of my community college courses, and they were all semester units. However, NU offers “quarter” units.

it’s just a matter of points when they calculate the GPA & TEAS.

40% GPA so that’s 35 points if your GPA was 3.5

40% of 94.7 (TEAS) is 37.88

then 20% of interview

all should equal 100 points.

Could I give you my grades and you will calculate my GPA? I'm confused.

Micro: A

Anatomy: B

Physiology: B

Biomedical:A

They're counting biomedical a 3 units instead of 4.5

I know how many they are, I'm just confused why biomedical is counted as 3 when it's 4.5
