National University Cohort 36 Essay Topic

Published

Hi,

I'm studying for National universitys essay portion of the entry exam.

This is my second time taking it and I was wondering if anyone could help me with what essay topics they have gotten in the past or for this cohort?

There is no way of preparing yourself for this essay as they do not give you any idea of how or what they will use for this essay!

My last essay topic a year ago was something along the lines of, "name 3 characteristics, gifts, talents that you have, that will help you become a nurse."

That's not verbatum but it's pretty close to what I got.

THANK YOU!

I have a friend who applied but hasn't heard anything yet? Anyone know if they go in alphabetical order? Can I ask what your last names start with?

I doubt they go alphabetically, but my last name starts with a G, I know another accept has a K. We have until the 20th to "claim" our spot, so maybe more will go out after?

I would recommend that they call/email and inquire why they haven't heard anything.

WOW! Congrats you guys :) I haven't heard anything back yet so I'm guessing I'm either an alternative or the denial letters wont come out until after the 20th... Has anyone gotten a denial letter yet?

My friend received a denial letter a few days ago in the mail.

There's definitely still hope Kerri! Keeping my fingers crossed for ya! :)

Maldrich, did you apply as well? Hopefully your friend keeps truckin along. I got denied 4 times throughout this journey. All you need is 1 yes!

I got an alternate position. I'm still hoping to get in.

An alternate is awesome! If they haven't told you already, I would recommend getting all of your immunizations in order (getting titers) just in case they let you know last minute. I already feel rushed with having only 2 months to get everything ready before we start!

No they didn't tell me about immunizations. What all do I need?

Most you probably had done as a child, but you have to show you have immunity or be able to show your records. If you call your primary care physician they'll know what you're talking about when you say you are applying to nursing school and need titers done.

Hep B

MMR

Varicella (chicken pox)

Tdap

TB (which needs to be done yearly)

(Titers are just a blood test that will show you have the antibodies. I had to do that because locating my vaccine records should've bend a hassle!)

Thank you for your response! :)

How did everyone receive their status? I thought it was emailed? Or did u receive a letter through the mail?

Thank you?

Can you check your status on the Internet?
