Has anyone else on here applied for the National University ABSN (San Diego) to start Jan 2012? Trying to locate fellow applicants....
Hey guys....still nothing....OMG. I try not to keep checking the portal but then I give in.....ugggg...they have to let us know something soon....I don't think they are taking calls until after the decision is given...I'm sorry Bali girl I can't remember what my score is but now that you have mentioned it, I'm going to look it up....lol....again, guys hang in there- we should know something very soon....
I can't believe that no one has heard a peep! So frustrating
So, let me get this clarified, because I want to make sure that I'm getting it correct:
30% Science GPA
30% TEAS V Score
20% Number of Attempts for Sciences
20% Essay
Is this correct?
Ms. M mentioned that the average points for acceptance to last year's cohort (with TEAS 4 scores) was some place in the mid 70's. I'm assuming the average of the TEAS 4 was much higher than version 5?
Did any of your status messages in the portal ever read 'submitted'?
I wish some of the people applying to the LVN to RN BSN would chime in here
Has anyone's mail been delivered today?
How did y'all do on the TEAS?
I'm hoping we all get accepted and start school together in January! The program I'm applying to for BSN is 15 months, how about the ABSN? Is it the same amount of time?

My score without the essay is 74. I know that the national average for the teas dropped 10% with the teas V so you're probably right about the average being lower this time around.
No mail yet. I think that we are supposed to hear via email though. I, too, have been skimming the previous cohort's conversations
The ABSN program is 23 months When was the LVN-BSN deadline?
I'm sure you're fine, Kimmy! Take a deep breath!!!! :)
As far as number of attempts, I think they just dock points if you got like a C in micro the first time you took it, but took it again and got an A to be more competitive. If you only took the classes all one time then you have the full 20%
Omg you guys are both in great spots with points! No Kimmy, come back...I need someone to vent with
I think we had between 40-45 qualified applicants, but only 20 accepted. How many are accepted to your cohort? I'm hoping we all do well on the essay!
@phegley, the LVN deadline was 7/30, when was yours?
Wait, why can't we reapply if we are denied admission? I thought we were able to try three times? Ugh I am so nervous!
Where are all our fellow applicants? We can't possibly be the only neurotic ones
Our deadline was June 10th. They take 50 and I think she said about 140 applied. Usually there are between 150 to 200 so our odds are better :) YAY!!!!We can reapply but we can't reapply until AFTER we are accepted or denied. Are you working right now Bali?
Oh good, less applicants is much better--yay!
Okay, so you will be getting your letters of acceptance this week (thinking positive) and I'll be stuck another month...
Yes, I'm working at a hospital in Orange County (where I live) as a PCT. The hospital doesn't employ LVN's, but it's where i want to work as an RN. Thankfully, my boss says she'll do her best to work with me once I'm accepted to a program, so I can at least practice my LVN skills I've got a little one who keeps me fairly busy, as well. Are you working? How many children do you have? It sounds like you're busy, too!
I wonder if we will all have some classes together...this is all so exciting (providing we're accepted)
Did your application status ever read 'submitted'?
Hooray--that's great news!! Omg in just a few days you'll all know!! I'm sending many positive vibes for us all :)
I wonder what the average scores for acceptance are??
Also, will we not know how we did on essays until we actually are either accepted or denied? How does everyone feel they did on the essay?
What does your status currently read? Mine still reads 'submitted.' I'm sure they're getting all yours processed before working on LVN cohort, your deadline was a month before ours and your deadline to reapply in next week--ours isn't for quite some time as the program is just once a year
I felt pretty good about mine. Who knows though...I did not do very well on the teas and I had just driven from Indiana to Cali like the day before...So there's a good chance I wasn't thinking clearly! lol
I remember reading that someone in the last cohort had called and gotten her essay score before she was notified of her acceptance. That may be worth a shot to just call and ask :)
