If anyone is interested, the National Naval Center has a position listed for the new grad internship for civilians. . I have been checking this site for 2+months and they just listed this position. I have been told it is a great program!
Here is the link-
http://www.bethesda.med.navy.mil/Careers/Human_Resources_for_Civilians/Job_Vacancies_Medical.aspx
It is listed half way down the page under Nurse Internship for New Graduate Nurses. Good luck!:wink2:

Anyone know if it's true that military spouses get preference??
Only if you have more than one year experience......
Does it say that somewhere? I've just heard it rumored that in military or VA facilities spouses get preference and wasn't sure if it was true. I'm not sure what having a year's experience has to do with that though?
I called the nurse recruiter and was told that spouses do get preference, but only if they have a year's experience. If you want to read the details just google spousal preference. There is a procedure to follow to use it and it is not guaranteed....
Ah, I see. Thanks for the additional info. I always wondered about that. :)
Does anyone know when this internship will be starting? and what the pay is? ( or is there one?). I've been trying to get the recruiter on the phone to make sure she got my resume but no answer..
Anyone heard from a recruiter over there?
I don't know a thing about it...just that it hardly every is open for resumes! I was going to pass up the opportunity because I thought I had a job in the area I desperately want to work in,but i did not get it. I am sending my resume tomorrow:)

Has anyone gotten a response from the recruiter about this?
I have. I got turned down because I don't graduate until December and the opening is for immediate fill. There is only 1 new grad position open right now so it's not for a group of new grads. Might be pretty competitive depending on how many applicants they get.
I got an email from her stating she would forward my resume to the medical Surgical managers for consideration....
