I'm planning to get into their training. I want to know your experience with them...

this forum is about the basic skills training of nkti. our training started yesterday may 4. we are only 75 trainees but the program can accomodate 100 trainees per batch. its too late for others to know this matter. by the way, the next batch will be on sept-jan. the training has 4 months duration. the requirements for the nkti bst are original and photocopy of:

prc id

bls id

ivt id

pna id

tor

diploma

1x1 and 2x2 pic (1piece)

chest x-ray

proof of immunity for hepa b

initial payment: 1000php

next payment: 7000php

hi. do i need to have at least 6 month bedside experience (in a 150 bed capacity)? Or are they accepting even if i still don't have any clinical experience? thanks

Specializes in MS, ER.

no need to have a working experience as 0628 told me..

the next batch for bst will be on sept-jan 2009. just submit your requirements on the IANAHP office at nkti......
thanks for the information. I know that it will take time but I'll pass my requirements in NKTI.

@ 0628:

Hi! I just registered for the BST program at NKTI. I have submitted all the requirements including the chest x-ray and hepa b surface antigen...however, they asked me to get a hepa b surface antibody(titer). Did you also submit that or just the one that says you're "non-reactive"?

I already paid the P1000 last Thursday, too. It just pains me that they should've posted hepa b surface antibody in the first place so it doesn't double what you're going to pay...My last dose for hepa b was the 3 doses that I have taken almost 3 years ago...

Specializes in medical surgical nursing, MAN-MSN.

the reason why they are asking for the hepa b titer is to know the level of your immunity against hepa B. if they find out it below the line then a booster dose is mandatory. better comply to it as it is for your own protection.

hi, if i may ask, what do you usually do in your training? do you do dialysis procedures? thanks. im still completing for my IVT license, i might get my card by the start of august. i hope there would still be a slot for the sept-batch.

Hello..

Is it true that when you are applying at NKTI for the BST training theres only one specific date for application.? And you should go there very early because it is a first come first serve basis.? And if you dont have any backer there, you cannot be accepted easily for there training.? I need some clarifications.

Please share your experience.. Thank You very much

@ Tobby_Walter:

Yeah, that might be the case. And I can't blame them since they are only protecting their trainees as well. Needle-prick would be very common to NKTI so I guess it's best to be immune to Hepa B. Anyway, I got my results yesterday and my Hepa B surface Antibody result is positive! Yey that means I don't need shots anymore. =)

@ JesJay:

Hi Jesjay. Unfortunately, the training for August 31-Dec 2009 batch is already closed. I registered a week ago and when I went there yesterday to submit my HBsAB result, they told me that it's already closed. Registration for January 2010 isn't until November of this year, but I guess it's best to register earlier than that.

@ Cucumber:

Hi cucumber, I registered for BST last May 21, 2009. No, there is no specific date to apply. It's just that they accept applications on Tuesdays and Thursdays within 9am to 11am only. I don't have a backer. They will only entertain you if you have complete requirements. I went there on a Tuesday at around 8:30am and I was the only one there. Just a tip, though, make sure that you register at least 4 months before the next batch. (Yeah, I once inquired about the training last April and they told me that there are already 50+ who registered for the August 31-December 2009 batch).

Hope this helps! =)

Thanks a lot 0628 for the information.:wink2: Just wondering if ever you passed all the necessary requirements needed in BST in NKTI you will be automatically included in the next batch of trainees in sept-jan? Is that a 100% guaranteed?:D Thanks..

P.S. How can i get there by the way at NKTI? I'm from Muntinlupa. Tnx

what if IVT training am I still able to apply for the dialysis training??? and how much will it cost?

hey guys! sorry for the vary late reply. i just make your comments on hand.

for the ivt, youll have to submit your ivt training cert from the hosp you'd trained for.

for the hepa b, i think its 350 or 850php i cant remember (at nkti lab).

the BST program means basic skills training. they provide it for us to learn skills about nursing in general. if you want to apply for the dialysis mgt prog (6months 25k), i think youll have to attend first the BST program.

nkti is located at east ave, quezon city. -hosp belt (phil heart, east ave med cntr, lung center-adjacent)

take mrt then drop by to kamuning station then ride a jeepney to qc hall, fairview then ask the driver to drop you at nkti

hi! i just want to ask..wil NKTI accept my application even if I only have BLS and First aid certificate? My BLS card is not yet available in red cross..Thanks! :)
